Here's how to make a super safe set of car ramps on the cheap

6--2x8x8 or 2x10x8

first one on the bottom is 6 feet long.....then each layer or step is 1 foot shorter...use deck screws to screw together..fast cheap & SAFE this is the second set I have made..They work great & you can even back up on them to work on the rear.

Scott, I believe your design for two ramps can be made out of (5) 2x8x8 boards.

Cut 2 of the boards at 6' to make the bottom 6' and top 2' sections for each ramp.

Cut 2 of the boards at 5' to make each ramps 5' and 3' sections.

Cut 1 of the boards at 4' to make both ramps 4' sections.

Your right Don,

Was late last night when i posted :sleepy:

I like!

2 questions though, if you don't mind:

Can you push your car up or do you need to drive it up?

I can't tell the thickness of the wood you used. Is it 1 or 2"?

Thanks, this post has been an inspiration ;-)

They do work like a charm. I made a set right after this was posted at the time and I've been using them ever since.

My car is so low that I can't roll a jack under the front spoiler so I need them all the time to get the car high up enough so I can even jack it up.
