Dash light functions

Hello friends,

I am in the process of installing a new aftermarket wiring harness and after over 7 years just cant remember exactly how the dash lighting works.

I have a 72 Mach1 with the tachometer and center dash gauge pod. I need to know what lights go on when you open the ignition switch and is the horse lamp the high beam indicator? If not, What is this lamp's function? Is there a high beam indicator, where?

Yes, the running horse is the high beam indicator. As for circuits that open, there is a wiring diagram on line here if you click on the data tab at the top of the page.

no lights should go on other then maybe the brake warning light when you start the car if you do not have idiot lights on the dash.

if you have the idiot lights in place of the tach then its another story.
