Just wondering what any of you have experienced this. I've done my own brake jobs, many times, over the years on my cars. It seems to me, that the semi-metallic front pads are the way to go on my '71. The standard "factory style" organic pads don't give as good a pedal feel, even on easy stops, compared to the semi-metallics. We know the semis are better when a lot of braking is done, or for high speed.  The semis DO shag off more dust, and tend to wear the rotor more, but I likely will never go back to standard brake pads up front. Not much talk of disc pads on the boards, but many of you must have found the same as I.

I'm not interested in going to any aftermarket brakes, like Willwoods, etc, so don't offer that as an opinion. I like to keep it factory-ish, however, I may add aftermarket braided flex hoses in the future to help firm up the feel.

I won't put ceramic pads on anything they just don't bite well. For everyday use the Centric PQ Pro pads work well and are not stupid expensive. Get them from Rock Auto.

I put a set of Hawk HPS pads on mine when I went through the brakes last year. I feel like they work really good and in the one little mini autocross I did with the car they worked great, even managed to lock up all 4 wheels trying to stop into the stop box lol. It was an "spirited" run that run.

+1 on Centric pads, I've used them on a couple of different vehicles, including a motorhome, and they work very well, good bite, not a lot of dust, and last well.

Same here. They do work better when warmed up, but nothing most people would notice. I'll be doing new drums and semi metallic shoes in the rear this winter, but those are just generic Wagner semis.

Installed Hawk's on my 73 as well 4 weeks ago. Done about 400 miles since, so can't tell much except they bite well so far and did not notice much dust (I have polished alu wheels and would have noticed if that was the case)

One detail I liked with them is that they come with good grease and enough to lube very well. Not important or related to their quality, but i've changed many time pads on different cars in past years, none came with grease. At least this little attention shows they want offer good stuff.
