I'd like to put a starter in that has a built in starter solenoid and do away with the one that hangs off the engine bay fender. Anyone done this before and if so what model starter would work?

Thanks,

I used a starter from DB Electrical on my 351C. At the time it was about $45 shipped. Turned a 10.5:1 engine over no problem.

If you have a manual transmission with 164 tooth flywheel, you need their 3223

If you have a manual transmission with 157 tooth flywheel, or any automatic, you need their 3205

If you prefer to get one locally, the application for the 3223 is a 95 F-150 w/5.8L & manual trans, the 3205 is the same, but with auto transmission.

Take a look at Robb Mc products website. High quality stuff.

Same here. Very happy with DB Electrical. I have their starter and alternator.
