Just looking at the pic makes me uncomfortable to shift

Yes, I agree that is not very cool looking to me. A guy could tear his labrum driving that car.

In my wildest dreams, or even alleged hallucinations, I would never have conjured that kind of design for a center console. WTH? It is not like me to say anything untoward about what others choose to do with their Mustangs, Shelbys, etc. But, in this case I am not able to restrain myself. I hope the person who created the design, and/or owner, is not reading my comment, as it could be taken as me being intentionally offensive - I promise, I am not meaning to be offensive in any kind of overt manner.

That said... WTH? I mean, really, I had to really look closely at the photo, zooming in on details, to make certain this was really a mounted center console for a First Generation Mustang. I was really quite unwilling to believe what my eyes were telling me.

I apologize to anyone taken aback by my commentary. Look, if you do not get why I barking off so much about this, clearly you need to take another closer look at the photo in the O.P., then force yourself to take note of the fact this is indeed showing where a center console ought be placed in a First Generation Mustang. What they are showing in the position of a center console is what I referencing in my prior comments.

For anyone still unsure of what is being presented in the O.P. comment and photo, I invite you to look at a slightly zoomed in, and clearly annotated, copy of the O.P. photo in my response you are currently reading. If you can't see what I am mouthing out about in my enhanced photo provided below, then it matters not what I type in this comment field, you are clearly incapable of reading anyway.

Man, I was being a bit harsh, eh? I ought to apologize. But, in good conscience I can't. It would be against every morally correct principle I hold dear in life.

I believe it is a console that was repurposed from another vehicle, and the console is supposed to fit up against, or into, the dash. The speaker is where the shifter would have been. I like repurposing, do it a lot, but come on, this is horrible. Cut the thing off in front of the speaker and move the whole thing forward, there's probably an arm rest and storage compartment against the rear seat.
