It's the way Kevin Marti sorts the data. Yours is 1 of 1 with power windows that have those wheels. Those wheels represent 10 of 82 that also had black power tops. etc. Nothing about these cars is truly rare, but it's still neat when you have a 1 of 1 Marti report. He can't get there with most of them.
still dislike how Marti does those Reports.

Competition suspension stood out to me, on a convertible, and without other performance options.

How much stiffer and lower is competition suspension? What other performance options would benefit one on the street (from what I am hearing 351,2v is better then 351,v4 for street)

Also top spec C6 vs c4....too bad no 3.25 gear.

Rear leafs were 138lb/in vs 88lbs/in, fronts typically were about 75lbs/in stiffer. CS included stiffer shocks and the variable ratio power steering box. If they had ordered the 4V engine, it would also have come with staggered rear shocks, a 1/2" rear sway bar, and a 15/16" front bar vs the 3/4" piece.

The standard automatic for the 351-2V would have been the FMX, still a stout box.

2V vs 4V is an eternal debate, depends on what you're looking for.

As example, a one of one 71 hemi cuda is a Hemi, 4-Speed, plum crazy, white interior, black top.
Who cares what wheels, power windows, AC and all other (small) options?

Good looking and well-equipped vert! I would venture to bet it's 1 of 1 yellow '73 convertible in your driveway, and that's what matters.
I have never seen vert 71-73 mustang in my city (with over 120 classic car show end of june each year...in Whitehall MI) so I think its is special....kids were exited to see it as well.
Its was a suprize for them, as they all of the sudden saw it in the garage as I open the garage door.

You are more likely to see a boat car with a watering hose then 70s vert mustang in my town...lol

Like the YOM plate... did that too on my CT 72 convertible... When I got it 6 months ago it had just under 18,000 original miles, yes "additional top down therapy" (also have an 88 5.0L vert) and so far racked up another 5,000 over the summer. Wildfire likes to get out and kick up her feet... Runs better with every ride.

It is still a nice car! Think of it following this example (not real numbers). Say there were 6000 convertibles (visualize 6000 cars sitting on a lot somewhere). Say there were 5 diff engine options. Let's say 2000 of the verts came with a 351-2v. That means 4000 came with some other engine and also lots of other things but now the "pool" you are looking at is only 2000 cars (the other 4000 were driven off the lot). Say 500 of those 2000 came with comp suspension. Well we know it is probable that some of the 4000 driven off the lot had comp suspension as well but they are no longer considered. Keep doing that and you end up with 1 of 1 fairly often. Play with the sorting order and poof, folks have a unique car. It is a gimmicky sales thing. Some options matter more to some people. Engine options are probably more significant to more people than convenience group. But it boils down to what matters to each of us. I plan to get the upgraded report for my cars just because it IS interesting to see the numbers.

Nice looking garage!

Hello fellow big horse owners.

Just few days ago I became an owner of a yellow 73 convertible. Needs some work with body/paint and engine/transmission, but it has potential.

First thing on my list is to check spark plugs, maybe test compression, thermostat, and vacuum.

Oh yes...Marty report alleges that its 1 of 1 for power windows for convertible - very unsusual.

That's a nice one and worth restoring. Looks like you have the aluminum wheels also (only available on 73). I restored my 73 Mach 1 about 10 years ago and now I am really enjoying it. These are great cars and the Cleveland motor is a good one also. Good luck with it.

Did you keep engine original or opteron to push more power out of it?

I know a buddy of mine who had a yellow and black 73. His daughter now has it. That car is a loaded Q code convertable and that car has power windows. I'm 99% they were original.
