hi from Canada, can anyone tell me where the rear window defrost wire hooks to under the hood. Thanks

The rear defrost is powered through the auxiliary power feed wire, which passes through the firewall and terminates in a three-place yellow rubber bullet connector plug. It should be in the area above the e-brake pedal. The other end is attached to a 30A circuit breaker that's secured by the nut on the Battery (+) side of the starter solenoid.

Mine is a 73, the feed is a solid color yellow wire that begins at the (+) side of the starter solenoid. That end has a ring terminal that is part of an integral "fusible link" wire for about a foot long then transitions to standard type wire at an in line splice. From there it goes atop the passenger side diagonal shock tower to fire wall brace, along the top lip of the fire wall over to the far left of the brake booster through an integral grommet to behind the left kick panel where it plugs into the rear defrost dash wiring harness.

71/72s used a black yellow dot feed wire connected as described by Hemikiller above. That same black yellow dot wire also fed the auto seatback release system if you had the convenience group. 73s also used a black yellow dot wire to feed the convenience group seatback release in parallel with the yellow rear defrost feed wire.

Here is photo of my 73 connections at the starter solenoid area. The "FUSEIBLE LINK 14 GA. is the rear defrost feed. The circuit breaker attached to the junction block is the convenience group / power window feed.
