Very nice ride you have. BTW there is a cruise night hosted by the local Mustang club held at the fueling station in Bonner Springs, Ks. This Saturday evening from 4pm till the last car leaves.
For all of us that collect those auto ornaments listen up. Had a sneak preview of the new collector series car for this year, a 1973 gold Mustang Mach1. Go on sale 15 July.
My condolences to you and your family. I know what you’re going through as I lost my wife last year to that horrible disease. There’s comfort knowing she is at peace and shinning down on you until you meet again. You will get through it.
Good article. I’ve been told by various auto mechanics and engineers,(there opinions) for older cars the best solution is a conventional oil with a ZDDP additive. Synthetic oils tend to rot out gaskets on either original non rebuilt engines and/or older rebuilds causing oil leaks.
One connection I would check if you haven’t done so is the cable from the solenoid to the starter. I’ve had a similar issue in the past and I found the cable connection at the starter which seemed tight was loose enough to not make a good connection.
If you’re looking to go OEM look I would suggest looking at SMS upholstery. They sale the OEM material. Find an upholsterer in your area to refinish. You’ll pay a little more but you’ll get the factory fresh look. I went this way on my vinyl with cloth inserts. Good luck!
Personally I wouldn’t spend too much time on the clock. They never kept good time to begin with. I have the original that still works in my ‘73 and new it would never keep accurate time.
