As a double B1 owner I am fortunate to have an 11K mile unrestored all original museum piece
(for sale too), and a 39K mile driver that is a blast to drive. Everyone knows/remembers this body style; great fun at the gas station!
UPDATE: Found a near perfect CJ oil pan about an hour from me and picked it up on Saturday. Will install soon. This will solve the issue; the measured clearance is 11/32" without the gasket. The sump clearance is approx. 1/2". Thanks to all for your help!

I need a new oil pan! Need to keep the engine original and I need a new NOS or perfect used oil pan, cobra jet baffles must be in-place.

Finally pulled the pan and found the rear counter balance nicking the end of the rear baffle. If Ford had made it .100" shorter it would have missed! But what a loud noise it made! The reason it hit was a previous owner jacked up the engine from the oil pan and crushed it about 1/2" at the front...
Put the car back on the lift this afternoon. Using the stethoscope; SUPER LOUD BANGING on the oil pan below the 4 & 8 connecting rods. Pulled an original cobra jet oil pan I had on the shelf, and their is a low profile baffle under the rear 4 connecting rods. I'm guessing and hoping this is...
