Yes, it will work. The power window glass has a half moon cutout in the lower edge to clear the motor, otherwise it's identical. Just be sure it's sportsroof glass, as the coupe/convertible glass is different.
The issue with that theory is there was no cloth seat option for the '72 sportsroof. The Decor Group option of '71 was NLA, and the only upgrade was the Mach 1 Sports Interior. The Upbeat Cloth was still available on the Cougar, but the upholstery pattern was quite different. What's the silver...
Short answer:
All 71-73 Mach 1s came with the Competition Suspension standard and it will not show on the Marti Report as an option.
Long answer:
What that consisted of depended upon the engine and steering option. 2V cars received uprated springs and shocks, and the variable ratio steering box...
Grab the end of the lock cylinder with a set of pliers and twist, that'll snap off the the chrome end with the finger flanges. You can then carefully drill through the center, chipping away the pieces, until the lock cylinder will rotate. Be careful to only drill so far. Use the new cylinder as...
If you have an auto-darkening helmet, you should be able to see through it when there is no arc present. Mine is set at 9 or 10.
Since you're using .025" wire, you should be up at 5 or 6 according to the chart in the manual.
Make it Kustom has an excellent beginner's video on how to set up...
@Spike Morelli I work for Moroso, we get that occasionally. "Your part did X" - sir, that's not our part.
As a follow up, Summit did the right thing and completely booted Speedmaster from their inventory.
The motors are not grounded to the car, not electrically anyway. The motors are controlled by switching polarity. In one direction, one wire is positive the other negative. To reverse the motor, the polarity is reversed through the wires.
Use the '72 wiring diagram, it's much clearer as to the...
There's a guy, Brad Barrie, on the FB groups that does license plate frames and decals. Don't think he does emblems.

There's also a dealer emblem and plate frame group too.

Finished the repairs to the toploader last night. Tonight I'll replace the pilot bearing and get the clutch, PP and bellhousing bolted back up. While I have the exhaust off I'm setting up the O2 sensor bungs and routing wires for the LM2 unit.
I had the interior out of the 71 Cougar last fall to fix some leaks - a rusty rear window channel, cracked gasket and the cowl. After those repairs and filling some pinholes in the floors, I topcoated with Rust Bullet Automotive, which is an aluminum colored encapsulator. It's easy to get...
I used the standard molded Mach 1 carpet from ACC and the fit was good. I would use the mass backed version if I were doing it over.
Floors look really good in that car, not something we see here in the northeast very much.
Yep, that's going to be replaced, along with the throwout bearing and input bearing. Going to need some surgery on the old input to remove the bearing retainer, so I pulled a good used one from the parts bin.
