Don’t take your car to an alignment shop without explaining they are wheel covers. They’ll put their impact wrench on it and do this to them and then move them to the back axle and not admit they did it. Ask me how I know.

Like bkdunha, my 12/71 built 72 Mach1 has the long hose with bracket mounted above the brace. I’ve never heard of a logical reason why the longer hose was used as mine came with the P/S cooler from the factory so I’m not sure why the long hose was deleted in 5/72 in favor of the shorter hose...
Being the original owner of my 72 Mach, somehow Ford corporate tracked me down 9 years, 6 states and 3 moves from the dealer where I bought it and they sent me a new, redesigned fan to replace mine.
