DODGY BAD RUST REPAIRS ON UTUBE

He didn't even remove the chrome which must have rust underneath... This may look crap in no time again...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The roof

Fair points! I think I’d do the same in your case. Just be careful with that support part underneath. Look for the spot welds and grind them out first and don’t cut into it 😎

So, happy new year ya'll! I just saw I never showed how that dent in the previous post was fixed. Well, in the end I cut a huge hole like so: ... and I patched it like this: After this I happily continued fixing the holes left by the vinyl roof: and even further along the back...

Replacing battery mount area of fender skirt

I did this a while ago, story in my build thread: https://7173mustangs.com/threads/slowest-resto-ever-project-amsterfoose-current-subject-the-roof.32693/page-12 The biggest pain for me was actually the support strip running underneath the top of the panels coz it's spot welded on the battery...

Rear window frame is gone. How to replace/fix?

I watched the video, thanks for that. I guess I'm going to have te peel off the outer skin inside the channel carefully as it's rusted against the inner skin badly. It's just gonna be a shitload of work I guess. On the upside it will give me more time to save money for other things that are...

Rear window frame is gone. How to replace/fix?

Howdo partypeople. Last weekend I removed the last remaining piece of glass; the rear window. I handled a lot of unpleasant surprises on my car but this one took the cake. The edge that the window lies against is 75% rotted away. Have a look: That edge is basically made up of the edges of...

Yea, that sucks donkey balls... I'm gonna let this sink in for a while before I do something about it. I suppose I could see if I can remove the structure behind it (and weld it back later). How do I stretch the metal back in shape? I wouldn't mind using a bit of filler but as it is now I'd...

I think the problem is that it has shrunk too much already so shrinking it more (using disk or studs) does not sound like the right solution?

Side job as a welder? Hmmmm, no thanks ;-) Had a crappy day, welding-wise. On the driver's side C pillar I had a shrinkage dent from welding in my quarter. Since I now also had to patch a rusted area I thought I'd try to fix the dent as well. So I cut out the patch and also made some cuts to...

    English wheel one curve only

OK, slightly different question then. I created a rectangular panel, curved in one direction. Like so: It needs to get a little crowne lengthwise to match the roof. I tried using the english wheel but if anything it curved the wrong way like this: How can I get crown in this thing...

    English wheel one curve only

Those are quite complex shapes. There are lots of things I’d like to train on but I’m limited on time…

    English wheel one curve only

Hey guys, With my english wheel I tend to always get curves in 2 directions. But sometimes I only need 1, like in the included pic. Any pointers on how to achieve this. cheers, Vincent

    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Looks great buddy! All the time consuming test fitting and shaping and again test fitting etc pays off in the end! Also really like the solution where you hammered that curve over a piece of wood, very clever. I will use that trick some day ;-)

Alrighty, time to start patching this @#$*! Got one done, it went like this: Got the crown in with my new English wheel, surprisingly easy. And after cutting the crap out I was happily surprised seeing that the inside of the roof edge's structure was nice and clean! I'm off to a good...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The roof

I should not have mentioned fixing holes... This weekend I ripped off the vinyl top (everybody who ever removed the vinyl prolly knows where this is going...): It revealed a lot of glue. But also it removed a little bit more that required investigating. The investigation turned into a hunt...
