I disconnected the plug at the sending unit and the gauge continued to peg out. I then disconnected the rear harness at the kick panel location and the gauge still pegged out. I will pull the cluster and start checking it and all of the wires at the harness. More to follow and thank you for the...

For those who have not seen my dashboard swap, I successfully swapped my spare dash but for some reason my fuel gauge now peges our all the wY . I checked my grounds to body and they are good. This was not an issue 2 or. 3 weeks ago before the swap. Thanks Tom

Just to add to this thread, I went through the process of changing out my dash. Got the center armrest/console installed with the dash but for some reason the gas gauge is pegging out at max now. I have checked grounds and other tan that nothing has changed. Thoughts? Thanks Tom

When I replaced my front windshield, the mounting plate was already attached, maybe molded into the glass during production. It may not be as easy as just heating up the mount, be careful. Good luck, let us know what you end up doing and how it goes. Tom

Thanks for the comment and advice Gil, I appreciate and always pay attention to your posts and videos. I picked this up used from a member here and I believe it to be an original part but will surely figure it out. I will give my extra dash a try to see if there is any difference and report back...
