Hey guys, glad to see a site dedicated to 71-73 mustangs!

I purchased a 71 Mach 1 last October to restore with my dad.
Here's how it looked then.

After some body work.

Just had it painted last month.
Here's how it turned out.

I have to say, driving it for the first time after it was painted was one of the best times of my life so far.
The interior is still in need of restoration.

Presently in St Pete Beach, but will be relocating the car to Melbourne, Fl the 16th. Originally bought it in OKC. Good to see a website for the 71-73 crowd.

Hello,
Greetings from Oklahoma. My wife has a 71 Mach I that she drove to high school and has owned since 74. It is a rather unusual car. It was first titled to Ford Marketing Corporation in Dearborn. It was kept in Dearborn until mid 72. It has a Detroit(33) DSO. We hold a "B" title to it, as only Ford and my wife have been registered owners. It has a one off stripe on the side installed by Ford, that we have been unable to acquire any info on. We have seen pics of a few others with this stripe, but so far, no solid info. It is also fully loaded with power windows, tilt wheel, intermittent wipers, rear defrost, etc. According to our research so far, it has all options except automatic seat back releases. I would like to post a pic to see how many might have seen or have info on a stripe like this. Thanks for allowing me to participate on this forum.
Regards,
DWhitaker

I have had my 72 Mach 1 since new. I ordered it with the 351 HO package(R Code) when I was 19 years old.

Hi everyone--I have a '73 Mach 1 with a 351c 4v,C6,PS,PB,AC--I purchased it from a co-worker in 2000 who was going thru a messy divorce and his wife wanted the car--I asked him what he wanted and he said $4500.00!!!--I drove it home from the eastern shore of Maryland(about 100 miles) the very next weekend

I like car shows, cruises and parades--But, there are days that suck at work and I'll come home and take the car out and just burn up a 1/4 tank of gas or so--I feel better when I get home

  Hi everybody

With a username like 69 Rustang you may wonder why I am here, either that or you are like me and have several Mustangs. One of my cars is a '72 Mach 1 that is an ongoing project. It is my second 71-73 and has turned out to be a far bigger challenge than the first. My current dilemna is a rusted out cowl that is going to need surgery. If I could just find a donor cowl I would dive in.

Anyway--great idea for a site. It looks terrific and I look forward to learning from the other members!
