More dash paint questions…

For this piece, I taped off the radio and AC sections and got the rest sprayed satin black….
How do you restore the part around the words volume and tuning?
would a clear spray darken the black?

i bought 1/8 inch tape that i put on all the silver strips. Then painted the rest with black spray. I took off the tape and used a silver paint pencil to paint the 'chrome'. came out fine

Sometimes, what works is to paint the entire face, in this case, a semi-gloss black, then go back and wipe the paint off of the chrome.Use a thin cotton cloth ( t-shirt material )slightly damp with laquer thinner, wrapped tightly around your pointer finger tip. A Q-Tip will work as well for this too. Do this just after spray painting so that the black is not completely dry, and of course, be carefull not to drag the cloth on the painted sections you want to stay painted.

Relating to interior Chrome, this product is excellent. I seldom expect great results from products like a Chrome pen but this really dries like real Chrome.

I did mine similar to Spike. I just painted the entire bezel with the SEM paint that a metallic semi black I think. Then when dry I go back with the 1/4” tape and use a chrome paint pen to hit the edges and words.
