Doing a headliner on a 72 coupe. I am wondering where the windlace goes. The car didn’t have any when I removed the old headliner. I assume it goes around the c channel from the quarter window and all away around the upper door window channel. Seeing as my car had none I am having trouble visualizing it. A picture would really help.

Thanks!

Ron

Well, I guess the reason nobody responded is that there is no windlace, at least not for the coupe. I wonder why it’s advertised for 71-73?

CJ’s stuck it to this newb.

Correct, no windlace on the 71-73s. It's advertised 65-73 on plenty of websites, not just the CJ's. Iy does come in handy as a clamp to hold the headliner in place while gluing. You can cut it into small sections.

Well now I have 16ft of it. Funny thing is I bought it to hold the new headliner in around the doors after it was installed and glued in place. I would have used it instead of clips and magnets had I known it was useless for this car.

Thanks for the reply. Getting smarter every day.

I made the same mistake. Actually used some of it to fill the gap between the package tray and the rear window. Turned out pretty good. Looks finished.
