I've always replaced them myself (had several convertibles over the years) so just the cost of the top, pads, etc. If you're adventurous, I think West Coast Classic Cougars has a good video on what all it entails.

Labor: $700 - $1500. Dependent on your location and ability to find good experienced top installer. You can a idea on material (top, rear window, pads, etc) from most online catalogues

Probably should add that some installers will only work with what they purchase themselves. You will need to talk to each shop for their policy.
But if you know the catalogue cost of materials, you can get a pretty good idea of their markup.

thanks everyone for sharing, after watching a video on west coast classic cougar installing a new top, I’ll probably buy a new top and have someone do the install. It’s a lot more involved then I hoped - way above my pay grade lol.
