Most of these cars came with a regular sized spare tire, I know that it takes up a lot of trunk space, but that is what they came with. My understanding is that only cars with the magnum 500 wheel option, or the sport deck rear seat option came with the space saver tires.

If you search the forum you'll find that several members have used modern space saver (donuts) spare tires aand what worked best for them.

Is F60-15 your tire size? Since finding any polyglas tires that size is difficult the equivalent radial is 235/60 - 15 that you could use in an 'emergency' if mixing radial and bias ply doesnt bother you for short use. You just need to buy a 15" Ford rim.
That size radial is also very hard to find, at least around here.

I bought a donut from a newer Mustang (2000-2010) from a Pick-A-Part yard. It is smaller (narrower) than a full size spare, bolts on/same pattern, and clears many brake packages. The down side was the diameter of the tire is basically the same as a full size spare, so with a fold down seat it is pretty tight in the trunk. Curses to whoever threw out the factory space saver!

- 1971 Mustang Mach 1: 351 C (modified), FMX trans (modified), 9" 3:25 traction lock rear gear. I have owned this car 44 years, since I was 17.
I occasionally see a space saver available on eBay. But considering the aftermarket - is anyone aware of any resource that might be producing new old style space savers. I know it is unlikely but until a few years ago your couldn't find full consoles and now you can buy a new one, complete (for $700).
