73 mustang baby blue with clevo 351
Ok so I’ve got a noise that’s driving me crazy. It basically sounds like a relay or something is just buzzing away behind the glovebox area but when I put the car into Park…….no noise. What the heck? Lol

Cheers
Jase

73 Mustangs were equipped with a seat belt warning system. If an automatic was in any position but Park, the light on the passenger dash panel illuminates, and the buzzer would sound until you pull the driver's seat belt out. There is also a weight sensor on the bottom of the passenger side seat frame.

You can remove the buzzer from the system, it's attached to the relay plate above the glove box. There are three screws that hold the plate in place. drop it down and just unplug the buzzer.

Ah that’s great to know. Thanks heaps for that info.

There is a "relay panel" mounted above the glove box. It has buzzers, circuit breakers, and relays mounted on it. The seat belt warning buzzer is there and activates when not in park if seat belt(s) are not on. Also the seat belt warning light above the glove box lights up (if working).

Hemikiller is spot on! Most people don't even know about it because previous owners already disconnected them - it could be very annoying. Same was on my car - but as I restored it to factory specs I reconnected it. It buzzes also if you forget the headlights on or the key in the lock and then open the drivers door.
I think about if I disconnect it again though, it buzzes really often...

Was having issues with it also make sure the plate where the flasher and relays has a good ground connection

Here are some files, several with annotation, re: the Relay Bar above the glove box, with its various units identified. I hope you find this useful information.
