I am looking for the driver side seat bracket/track. It may be the same as the passenger side. Any old seat with the track/bracket in good shape will do it - the rest doesn't matter. Thank you.

I am trying to figure out if I will be able to use the stock brackets. I got the new race seat and the spacing between bolts is 13.5" while the Mustang brackets are spaced 14". The issue then is that each bolt needs to be offset 1/4" so I don't see a way I can use the stock bracket without cutting most of it up or fitting another adapter between the seat and brackets, which will raise the seat too much. That said I am looking at something like the Wedge brackets: https://wedgebrackets.com/ford-mustang-71-73-seat-brackets.html. They are expensive but it saves me the cutting and welding that would be needed to build the bracketry. If someone has a better idea I am open ears.

If you are going to be racing (drag racing or road racing) the car, be careful offsetting things 1/4" etc unless you have them braced correctly. Elongated holes in race cars do not work very well. Safety should be your first goal, not matter the cost.

Hey Tony, I bought aftermarket seats for my 72 Mach1. ProCar leather recliners. The stock seats were infested with mold and were terribly worn anyway. The universal mounting for the 71-73 Mustang made the seats sit too high and I ended up recycling the original slide rails. Problem is the original seats and slide rails are arched and the new seats were flat. I carefully marked where new holes had to be drilled in the new seats and then shimmed each new hole with spacers to give it a snug fit. Fitting it back was not as difficult as I had imagined but nonetheless tough. Getting the self locking nuts to stay put on the inside of the newly drilled holes was a bitch but I got it done with a little ingenuity. New repro seat rails are available on eBay. I had to replace one because the down tab on the drivers side rail broke off the last time I had to remove the seat for under dash work. The new replacement from eBay was more difficult because the springs are new and hard to hook in the holes and then harder for the rails to match up to the floor pan holes to line up when reinstalling the seat. That is apparently why one of the mounting bolts is a stud to assist in installation.

Thanks. I will try with the Wedge adapter. I will call them first, but they claim to be stock height. If they end up too tall I will find a way to lower them. I looked at the ProCar seat and the seat bottom is tall to start with. I ended up going to a race shop and tested several seats. I decided to get the OMP Style, which has a seat bottom about 3/4" lower than stock. My plan is to use this seat only for race days. So I will be swapping the stock-TMI in and out.
 
Just wanted to close this thread by letting you know that I purchased the Wedge adapter (https://wedgebrackets.com/ford-mustang-71-73-seat-brackets.html). This adapter is very well made and is 1/4" from the carpet so pretty much as low as it can be. I had to slightly modify the rear hole locations to fit, but I also have a slightly modified seat platform.
