Must admit to being caught a little off-guard; when I placed the order, the ETA was 4-6 weeks. Seems they arrived in more like 4-6 *days*! Woo-hoo!

So now I need to get ahold of my upholstery guy, order the seat trim (2 per seating position) and I think I'll have him put in seat heaters. Anyone else done that yet? Any tips/advice? I'm thinking I'll mount the switches behind the ashtray slide panel in the console. I live in the desert so you'd think ventilated seats would be more of a priority, eh? That may be asking too much of these thin-shell 70s seats.

Ohhhhh nooooooooo! They were sewn in the wrong direction! I would be sick. Hopefully you are not anal like me, lol. I also would like to know the total cost. View attachment 69351
This reminds me of when I posted pics of my houndstooth Recaro seats. One of the seats had the houndstooth panels sewed in crooked. Members caught it, and I got it corrected.

Can someone tell me ??? how many yards of fabric is needed to make front and back seats. The seats are from a 1971 mach red with black stripes. Black stripes are on the front seats only.
The seller has listed the product for me to buy but only listed 9 yards of red.
Please let me know.
Thanks
Rod

Rod,
You may have tried this already, but National Parts Depot has the Vermillion with black insert seat upholstery listed in their catalog. Whether or not it's in stock, I don't know.

I’m with you KenKen, I’d have to have them the correct direction, it would drive me crazy! Is the OP going back to the maker? It’s nice that they got them done quickly but I would rather have them take an extra month and have the correct direction.

Rod - I can only partially answer your question because the Mach 1 interior is different than the Deluxe interior. For the Deluxe, I was told 2 yards for the Comfortweave inserts front and back. Mach 1 interiors use three different vinyls.

That is the goal. I have to work with my rep at TMI and he was at the SEMA conference last week and taking no calls/emails until he returns. I hope to have good news to report this coming week.

Thanks Spike!
I went down this route with little success. Ive tried to contact TMI many times over the last year and cant get a response from them. Ive done this via the toll # and Emails. Never got a response from emails except return advertising SPAM.
I really wanted the bolsters to be larger so Ive decided to order the material and have them made locally. I know TMI makes a foam and cover with larger bolsters but If Ive had this much trouble in the past what if they make them wrong and I needed to return them? TMI makes good stuff, just started on the wrong foot for me.

I don't have a Mach 1, so I wasn't aware the back seats were without the third vinyl, but yes, looking at your first photo shows what I mean, and the two reds are a different vinyl. The pic below is from a long ago post, but shows the three vinyls used in the Mach 1/Sports interior on front seats. The Deluxe interior is only two vinyls, front and back.

The "2 yards" quote came from TMI and was regarding a Deluxe interior, both front and back seats.

Fortunately I had ordered extra Comfortweave and TMI fessed up to the error and will have the correct seat covers to me in 7-10 days. And they’ve been really prompt and diligent about responding. Good customer service goes a long way to making a happy customer.

So now I have a full set of new front and back upholstery in black available if you’re good with the incorrectly installed Comfortweave. These are for original Mustang seat frames.
