How to remove the "hockey stick" top well trim

I'm stripping off the paint on my L code vert, and would like to know how to remove the trim around the top without damaging it.

Remove the nuts underneath and then just lift it off. If the top is still on you'll need to lower it to access the fasteners.

The nuts are low profile, so you have to feel around for them a bit.
