All the date codes seem to be accurate. I'd love to talk to the last registered owner in Kentucky just for more information but that was 25 years a go. I'm just going to drive it and enjoy it. The engine and dash match the title so legally I have a real nice b51 clone. What is was....... hmmmm

If it is pretty rust free, look carefully in the middle bottom of outer rockers. Back in the 80s, I redid my Dad's 73. It had partial (sequence number) vin stamped in about 10 places. I never realized the numbers were there, until I removed all paint, etc with wire brush.
Dad bought it from original owner in 78 or so, and now my son owns the car. I think with primer and paint, you can't see the numbers. They also may have done more stamping in 73.

I have a 1971 M code I've owned since 1973. It came off a 3 year restoration in May of 2022. The original dash with the stamped vin tag was lost somewhere along the line. The fender aprons were badly rusted and discarded by the restoration shop. According to the Marti report, my car is a 1 of 1 however, without the original vin tag, I have no way of verification that my car is actually the one that goes with the factory issued vin. I have a copy of the title I was issued when I bought the car from the original owner in 1973 which states the vin of the car. Does anyone know how I can get a new tag made with the original number?
