Well, I was able to purchased a MicSig 4 channel automotive hand held automotive oscilloscope, and a 2 channel PicoScope. I also order some items to build a bench tester for primary and secondary ignition system components, and another bench test that will let me test various incandescent and LED lights in a sequential flasher featured taillight array using 4 incandescent and/or LED bulbs/lights per side (left and right).

The ignition test bed is to see the impact on the time line (in milliseconds) for a secondary spark line as the spark plug gap is jumped, at varying plug gaps measurements.

The taillight test bed is for a friend who has a First Generation Mercury Montego and Mercury Cyclone that he wants to convert to LED lights. I told him I would set up a test bed to see if he will still need to replace his oem flasher with an electronic unit or not.

In both cases I also will be using the test beds to learn more about how to use the new oscilloscopes. So, Winter Hibernation be damned! I have some projects that will be keeping me plenty busy, especially in learning how to use the oscilloscopes. By the time it is Car Season again, and the pony cars are turned loose, I will have plenty of things to do with the oscilloscopes, and I will be then know much more about how to use them. Toys, toys, toys... heh heh...

I got my Mustang for Christmas but it didn't actually arrive home in my garage until yesterday. It arrived in Hamburg December 11th (I watched the boat arrive on a webcam) and the container made it's way to Prague, by rail. Czech Customs were almost problematic - I declared it as what they categorize as a "Veteran" vehicle (historical vehicle). Veteran vehicles coming into the country do not get Customs charges and only 15% VAT (according to the value of the car). If it is not a Veteran they charge 10% Customs fee plus 21% VAT. They tried to say that since I had an electronic ignition and LED headlights it is not original and would rate the higher charges. All they were doing is trying to get more money out of me. But in the end I got it in as a Veteran. It was released yesterday and home in my garage yesterday afternoon. So after having it is storage 22 loooong years in Ohio, it is finally with me again. Now, it will just hibernate 'til Spring.

I bet it's a relief to have it back in your possession!
