My Car
1971 Mustang Mach 1: 351 C (modified), FMX trans (modified), 9" 3:25 traction lock rear gear. I have owned this car 44 years, since I was 17.
I am beginning to contemplate a Mustang Coupe / Grande project. I love my Mach1 (for 44 years) but over the years I have come to appreciate the lines of the coupes and I think they are still relatively easy to find and affordable. But my question is:

Pinstriping was an option from the factory. Are there ANY examples of factory pinstriping on convertible and coupes. Colors, patterns, ends .... anything? Were they tape or paint?

The Grande' had a unique color keyed pinstripe as standard equipment. If the Protection Group was ordered, the pinstripe would be deleted. Beyond that, the only factory available stripe on the 71-73 coupes was the hockey stick "Mach 1" stripe, which was available in 72 & 73 in conjunction with the Decor Group. It was not available on the Grande', nor was the Decor Group.

Keep in mind, pinstriping was popular back in the day, and an extremely common dealer or owner add-on.
