Hi,
Im happy to announce that the engine and tranny went into the 71 mach today. Some help from my Son in law made it possible. Its been 3 years bolted to the engine stand sitting in the garage. Today was my wifes (Sally) Birthday. As most of you know she passed away almost 2 years ago from cancer. I thought it would be a good birthday gift to install her engine in her car.
Thank you Hemi Killer for answering all those questions and making the install almost flawless!!

Just one setback: The 50.00 motor mounts would not line up, poor design and poor quality. Went to Orielys and bought a set for 30.00 although of inferior quality they bolted right up first try.

Good eye on the pipe wrench ......was not one of my happier moments today.
Being a machinist and tool and die maker I cant ever leave "good enough" alone. I bought that cheap engine leveler from Harbour Fright and decided to improve it some. The handle was to short to get ant leverage and made from plastic, Yup plastic threads even. So....I made turned a new handle of steel and lengthened the handle lever to get more leverage. Guess what? as you continue to rotate to steeper angles the longer handle hits the chains. Dog gone it all. So..........the pipe wrench bent it just enough to get clearance to rotate. Im dead tired right now but took the time to cut it down and fix it before I put it away.

Nice!
White Mach 1’s look so good

Congratulations on the install, made sweeter with the help of family. I’m sure she’s looking down, proud of what you’ve accomplished.

For me, I cut that cheap handle off of my HF engine hoist and welded a 3/4” old rusted socket to it, so I can use my electric ratchet and extension to operate it, after having the handle hits the engine problem.

Looking forward to hear it running.

Looks awesome. You are an inspiration. Your wife’s car looks great. I am a few months behind you. I have a 73’ Vert that I am still replacing rust on. The engine is finished and I just have to pick it up when I get back to Canada next week. So exciting seeing other guys getting their projects finished.
