Beauty and congratulations! You've really done an extraordinary job bringing that car back to life! Are you going to add the other Sprint details - decals hood stripes?
Thanks! Yes, in the spring….I have some more paint work to do before pinstripes and hood stripes and Olympic flag decal….

I should of done this sooner…the trans was leaking heavily out the shifter seal and pan. So I got a new pan, filter, gasket and shifter seal kit. I previously replaced the band adjuster and tail shaft seals.

dropped pan and valve body, replaced seals, all seems good.

FYI, Do NOT buy this pan from Summit Racing it has flaws and grooves, is not flat, and doesn’t seal well. The second one was slightly better than the first.. the silver lines you see are gouges/grooves in the mating surface.

I took my wife for her first ride in the car the other day, she enjoyed it, but hated the green steering wheel. So it was time to put on the new one. A typical Grant. Not horrible…but the black rubber was rock hard, so I wrapped it old school…also it kept honking, the center hole was not big enough and the copper contact section was dragging on nut. After grinding that, I still had constant honk, it turns out Drexel work created may hair like copper strands that were touching various parts…a good sanding and it’s all good now… I know these things don’t have the best reputation, let’s see how it goes. The chrome is already flakey on the bottom edge of the center cap before I even installed it…I will tie off the wrap if I am happy with fitment…
Would you be interested in selling that avocado two spoke steering wheel? I am looking for one in decent shape.

Just an update…no update! Should start paint buffing in the next month….followed by final fitment, emblems, stripes, etc..

So I am either wrecking or fixing the paint….I had fisheyes, so I used the tip of an extra fine dremmel tool tip to rough up the inside of the fisheye. Then I dropped some of the pain into the divot with a toothpick…now to let it dry and take the bumps down….the biggest one went all the way to primer, and will be hidden under the stripes….the others had color in them…..will cut and buff at end of month.

Test 1. Sand fisheye repair buildup with 1500 grit and small block, these are 2 lemon sized repairs. Hard to see, look close….

it worked, 1500 took off the raised paint as well as did a good job on orange peel, so that will be starting point for cut and buff….

Just bought a pair of these battery powered JBL speakers for the Mustang, they are awesome sounding, tested them in pickup with SXM. The blue will blend perfect into seats or carpet, and I can carry them out of the car….
