Got my 73 last week. Seems to be in pretty good condition. Been working on some little details, lighting, radio etc. Great site for information and looking forward to learning more.

I have not found much information on color combinations and not sure white was even available on the conv (car used to be green) but I am not feeling the white (cream?) roof so I’m thinking of changing to black. If someone can point me to info in factory color combo options that would be great. Regardless of originality I think I will go with a black roof. Photoshop for reference.

Welcome from Virginia. Great to see another convertible has survived. Wimbledon White was a stock color. It is off white like cream. My 73 is the stock Wimbledon White with black interior. Black top looks better and is easier to keep clean.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Here are more pics. I still need to figure out what carb and intake is installed to see what tweaks (if any) can be done. The top is definitely going to black and I want a glass window. Also the seats are comfortable but they just don’t go with the look of the car. So I need to look for a new set of seats. I also want to replace the aftermarket stereo for a period correct radio and I will use a Bluetooth amp for music. I also want to research on how to get more power from the engine. My other toys are an 06 Aston Martin V8 Vantage 6 speed and a 76 BMW 2002 with an M42 swap, so I am used to good amounts of oomph. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, I have been wanting a convertible muscle car for a while.

Hello and welcome from Palm Springs! Nice car, and I agree on the "better in black" for the top.

Welcome from NC. That’s a cool ride and I agree that the black top is probably the way to go with the white paint job.

Welcome from Seattle. I agree with you about the seats. I like the factory seats, they just look right. Lots of options for making power with a 351C.
I reupholstered my seats using the Mach 1 pattern in leather, although the mach 1 pattern was not available in a convertible from the factory.

Digging the steering wheel, do you mind sharing where you got it from? Seats are cool, need to find a decent set to replace mine.

Thanks!

Good luck with your new addition. According to Kevin Marty's book of numbers...In 1973, there were 1,224 Convertibles built in White "9A" with 296 of them with Black interior "CA".

There were 11,853 Verts built in 1973, 4,943 were "H" codes and surprisingly all of them were Automatics most had an FMX trans, many had a C6, and 2 had a C4. There were no "H" codes with a manual. There were only 293 convertibles built with a manual 4-speed and all were "Q" codes. That's according to Kevin Marty.

It's a Grant GT wheel which can be found at just about any of the vendors and box auto parts stores (I got mine from CJ Pony Parts, along with the TMI Products seat upholstery and ACC carpet.

You mentioned wanting a factory-style radio, but BT Audio - why not have both? I put a Retrosound Model 2 in mine, and it looks like a factory Philco radio, but runs AM/FM/BT/USB/Hands-free cell phone, etc.
