Hello,

Since I bought my car out of state I need to do a VIN check, on my previous Mustangs there is the dash and a spot on the body( usually the engine bay) as well stamped on there.

But I don't see that on my car. Is there another VIN hidden somewhere other than the dash?

Partial VIN under the driver's fender. On the one's I've looked, you can just barely make it out without having to remove the fender. Turn on the flash on your phone camera and get it up really high in there. Slightly forward of the centerline of the driver's wheel.

Not sure what the police will need on a VIN check. Here in Indiana, as long as the VIN on the dash is visible, that is all they've ever looked at when I have done an out of state purchase. Since this is a classic car with less than 17 digits, I doubt they will be that "thorough". When I purchased my 73 vert from PA a couple of months ago, the police officer just called in the VIN from the dash, came back in about 2 minutes, and said everything was good to go.

Yea, anticipating this issue with mine, I took time/date/location data pictures of the two stamped VINs on my car. My CHP friend told me it would speed the process up.
