Rubber Fuel Line Replacement - What’s Best?

Ron, I did not see that on the hose anywhere. It does say it is SAEJ30R14T1 EPA compliant. That standard appears to cover use with various fuels including ethanol. I haven’t seen a hose disintegrate to that degree before.

Rubber Fuel Line Replacement - What’s Best?

I was replacing my fuel lines today on my 73 convertible. When I got to the rubber portions, they felt a little soft. I cut one open to see what was going on and was shocked to see the level of deterioration of these fuel lines. They are Gates 4219BG Barricade Greenshield with a date code of...

Any Ideas on What This Is?

I have a very detailed set of documentation on this car from the original owner. There is no evidence of any accessories that were added to this car over the years. The tube seems to be attached to something on the other end. I will not be pulling the column on this car and I may not be limber...

Any Ideas on What This Is?

I have a 66K original mile 73 convertible that has never been apart and never modified in any way. I removed the speedometer gauge cluster for a good cleaning and came across a black plastic pipe on the top of the steering column and parallel to the right of the ignition switch rod. The pipe...

    73 H Code Convertible Project

Even though my convertible runs ok, I could smell that pungent odor of bad gas near the carb. This car theoretically has a new gas tank and fuel pump. Despite that, I decided to open up the 2100 2V for a look-see. The fuel bowl had a layer of rust particles about 1/4” deep on the bottom. The...

What did you do to your car today?

That's a job I have been putting off myself. How hard was that?

What did you do to your car today?

Thanks @YellowHorse. I think I will have to chase some of those holes with a tap. They look a little crusty.

What did you do to your car today?

Thanks for that info. Did you use any anti-seize on those bolts for the center caps? One question about your new center caps. I see that they appear to have only three mounting holes instead of five like the originals. My Mach 1 had the original caps on them and they all had 5 holes and they...

What did you do to your car today?

Wow! Looks like new! What hardware did you use to mount the center caps? I’m not sure what was used originally.

What did you do to your car today?

I got a set of ‘73 aluminum wheels and caps out of storage and polished them up today for the convertible project. They are definitely used but will do nicely.

    73 H Code Convertible Project

Today was steering wheel change day. For some unknown reason, the previous owner had installed a dark green steering wheel in this avocado interior car. A total mismatch. Also, the dark green wheel was mostly cracks and ready to fall apart. The horn was also inoperative. Thanks to forum...

    73 H Code Convertible Project

I spent the afternoon today cleaning the car, re-installed the wheel lip moldings that were missing, and adding some 73 Mustang aluminum wheels that I had in storage. Now it’s on to the electrical gremlins.

    1973 Ivy Glow Convertible

Just got the Marti report for my new convertible. All options are still on the car except the trim rings/hub caps. I assume that those were the Ford corporate dog dish type. It just has the standard hubcaps on it now. I just looked up that Ford dealership in Kent, Washington and they are still...

    73 H Code Convertible Project

I think the first thing is to sort out some electrical issues. When I turn on the right blinker, both rear tail lights flash. None of the side marker lights work. The blower motor only works on medium speed - probably a resistor issue there. After that, I will go through all of the vacuum lines...

    73 H Code Convertible Project

I just picked up this 73 Ivy Glow Mustang convertible. It's an H code 351C-2V with an FMX transmission. It still has all of its pollution control stuff attached. Not much in the way of options except full console and tilt wheel. It's a DSO 74 (Seattle) car that was moved to New Mexico in 2002...

    Carpet

It depends on what you want. I wanted an original look on my carpet so I went with the nylon loop mass backed. The Essex is a deep cut pile type carpet that will not look original in your car but it is nice and plush.

    Carpet

Here are some photos of my new ACC carpet (mass backed). Again, it's a bugger to install but I am very happy with the result.

    Carpet

I ordered ACC mass backed carpet from Rock Auto for my Mach 1 about 4 months ago. I was very satisfied with the quality and fit and the price was much cheaper than Mustang parts vendors.
