    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

Actually Pat, I had forgotten about his comments to me. Thanks for reminding me. I change my mind back. He is a jerk and I have no sympathy for his situation and I hope he burns in the dumpster fire with that car, lol.

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

I hate to say it, but my opinion of this guy's situation is starting to soften a little bit. I don't think he had a clue what he was buying at Mecum. In all fairness, as long as he doesn't remove the fenders, he should still be able to claim plausible deniability regarding the numbers. He didn't...

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

Hey Pat. That is a wild story! Can you provide more info? I've never heard of anything like that. Did the state police cut the shock towers or did they make him do it? Did the police see different VIN numbers or had the originals been swapped? Do you think it makes a difference what state you...

Do I save it? 71 vert 351-4v ramair

Good idea about the Uhaul trailer Chris, but the timing isn't right for me to load up with sheet metal parts right now. I'm looking at buying another building for storage but it will be six months before I have things up and running.

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

$31,600 is still too much to pay for this car. I'd say it's worth $24,500 at best as a driver.

No, but that's a great idea!

Do I save it? 71 vert 351-4v ramair

Hey Chris. I too ordered the rear frame rails with torque boxes for one of my projects over a year ago from TF but as I recall they came from "Mustang America." They took longer to come in than I wanted, but they made it in about a month and fit fine. That was during the pandemic when things...

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

Chris, I'm sure one day you will find that SCJ carcass and put it back on the road just like your 71 red/red/ Mcode vert!

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

The dead giveaway is the back seat belt mounts coming out through the rear 1/4 trim panel. We all know that was a 72 and 73 item. There are so many things wrong with this car it has to be a rebody. The only thing from the original car is the dash VIN. Period. There's no way they took the time to...

    Something actually went right today!

That's how I got in the last time I didn't have the key! But there's a twist. My fat ass couldn't fit through the hole, so I had to attached ten extensions together to my ratchet and reinforced them with duct tape to keep the assembly fairly straight. Then I unscrewed the two bolts holding the...

Do I save it? 71 vert 351-4v ramair

I was thinking only of the M codes when I came up with the "100" number. A 351 2V Ram Air has to be really rare. How many of those did they make? Where are you getting your sheet metal? It's getting harder and harder to find at reasonable prices and the shipping is insane. I heard Gilbert bought...

Interesting $10.50, 1973 slotted wheel auction

Wow. I just saw this post. Wish I had bought it for that price!

LOL Geoff! That car doesn't have any parts I would want, otherwise it would be mine :ROFLMAO:

Do I save it? 71 vert 351-4v ramair

I thought about buying the hull from Paul before you got it, but I have so many similar projects that I would never have gotten to it. The thing that makes me sick is that at one point, after several conversations with Paul, I had a chance to buy the whole car with the numbers matching...

One of my cars made it into a movie!

So last year I was approached by a film producer who lives locally in Birmingham, AL. (but moved here from California) to see if she could use one of my cars for her film, "It's Alright Now." I jumped at the chance and let her use a 1973 Medium Copper Metallic Q code convertible that has had...

    Something actually went right today!

So I've been fixing up a 72 Vert, factory Bright Red/White/White car I bought a few years ago. Unfortunately, the trunk key was missing when I bought it. I have a big bag of ignition and trunk keys from cars I parted out, and I've tried using them many times in similar situations with no luck...

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

Not with that engine, lol. That's just a run of the mill 429 out of a Thunderbird. It's not a Cobra Jet. And it has an 8" rear end, probably with 2.75 gears!

Good job putting all the ads together Hemikiller! I'd love to know the history of the interactions between the seller and the "buyers" on all those "sales."

1972 Convertible Q code, 4 speed, Ram Air, A/C, Marti Report/Window Sticker Pics

Yes! That is the car I had mentioned before. In fact, the Polaroid I had looks like the picture in the article. So cool he got the car in Mustang Illustrated. Small world indeed when it comes to these cars!
