Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Made a bit of progress last weekend on the RH quarter. I'm really noticing increased skill now as this wheelhoude and quarter is going a lot faster than the other one, which was my first ever big welding job. Still slow coz I can really only work on my car once every 2 weeks but still...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

More than a month has passed! What happened? The drop off was finished: Now it was time to see what the wheelhouse edge looks like: CRUSTY! I cannot imagine ANY 50 year old Mustang not having crusty wheelhouse edges. Therefore, for the life of me I don't understand why people "restore" a car...

    Twitter anybody?

This weekend I also tried Instagram and I have already deactivated my Twitter account... Instagram lets you subscribe to hashtags, something you cannot do on Twitter. There is a #7173Mustangs tag as well. The amount of images of our cars is HUGE (duh...). It's something very different from a...

    Twitter anybody?

Hey all, Do any of you use twitter and if so, what search terms (hash codes) do you use to find stuff about our cars? And is this forum present on twitter? Cheers, Vincent.

    Hole in rocker?

Thanks guys. I can't see inside coz it's filled ;-) The removed trim story sounds about right so I'll leave it at that.

    Hole in rocker?

Hey folks, Now that I'm working on my RH quarter I did some sanding on the rocker and (just like on the LH side) found a small hole near the end as can be seen in attached picture. In my case(s) the hole was sealed. There seems to be a lot of filler inside the rocker behind the hole. Is this...

    Shipping sucks

I ordered a new Wilwood front disc kit from NPD. Cost me about $900. Wanna guess the shipping to Europe? It's about $300. And when it gets here I can pay an additional tax on the kit PLUS shipping which the transport company will bill me another $250 for.

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

I have ordered this: - https://www.npdlink.com/product/disc-brake-conversion-kit-wilwood-classic-series-dynalite/196759 Can take 3-6 months to arrive under current conditions...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Haha, that won't be any time soon! After the RH quarter I have to do my floors and last weekend I found out the battery apron needs work afterall... Then I need to close all the holes that the trim around the vinyl roof left behind. The vinyl ain't coming back so no need for holes... After all...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

With the cowl finished on the last day of 2021 (feels great to have it finished last year) on the first day in 2022 I started on my RH quarter. I can see a bit of crap in the drop-off and you can be sure there is rust in the wheel well edge so that's all going to be replaced, just like I did on...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Wellllllll, a few months have passed and my cowl is fixed. That's the short version of this post. If you wanna know more details, keep on reading! My last update ended with a funky looking patch. Well, the one after that was more challenging! I made this patch: To go here, on the RH side of...

    subframe connectors and speed humps

Thanks for the replies. I checked out the GW and TM models. The Tinmans's look more natural to the car but it seems a lot more work getting them on the car. As I do not have a rotisserie nor do I have a lift, is either one easier to weld in when the floor is out? Cheers, Vincent.

    subframe connectors and speed humps

Hey all, I guess this question is about handling... For those who have subframe connectors, did you ever have trouble getting over speed humps etc? Cheers, Vincent.

    I'm a Leper

I love the C3's, would love to have one as well some day but their prices are going up up up faster than our 7123 mustangs... This is an early 70's model since it's missing the chrome front bumper I think? Where's the details on this ride? Wishing you many safe miles mate, enjoy!

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

No thanks, I'm quite capable of checking my own shorts :-) Another thing we experienced last night when we cooked our first meal for 4, dunno if it's coz of these new pans of because the heat transfer is so much different, when we were done, we could tak the pans off without using mittens or...

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

Well, installed it last Saturday and already love it! Electricity is cheaper than gas here so that's a plus. But just wait until you have to boil water. A pan with tap water (which is rather cold here right now) will boil SO MUCH faster than on gas! We did buy new pots and pans out of one piece...

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

Pfff, we have a lot of brands from ikea to AEG or Bosch. We bought a Dutch brand called ETNA. Mainly because it's one of the few ones that fit on top of a 60cm wide cupboard. It runs on 1,2 or 3 phase current and if on 1 phase it auto regulates power so you don't blow a fuse. I put in a 2 phase...

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

No doubt it will take some getting used to but the people I talked to who have one love theirs. Personally the thing I'm looking forward the most is cleaning it! Regarding scratches, you have to wonder how they got there. It's glass, you have to be careful not to scratch it. Keeping your stuff...

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

Instead of working on my Mustang I had to spend some of my very precious time at home while a sparky was replacing our fuseboard in preparation of installing an induction cooker (which will cost me more time surely). And in my garage I had to create an extra wall socket and also a wifi hotspot...
