    Headers for 351C

Assuming a 351C? There are lots that fit the car but may not fit your intentions. What are you looking to do with the car and engine? That will help folks provide more specific recommendations.

    351C where to start?

Given your symptoms do not be tempted to 'mess' with the new carb. Set the bowl level, check the accel pump is set correctly (lots of videos on how to do this). Set the idle speed and screws. An out of the box holley should run 'pretty good'. Don't get tempted to start swapping jets, accel...

Testing plug wire with OHM meter. I don't understand the readings

At 11:48 it solves the riddle! You use the lowest setting that doesn't return a value of 1 or LO. So in my case I use the 200 setting.

Testing plug wire with OHM meter. I don't understand the readings

    1) new batteries 2} seems fine 3} Not really, I have two meters now. I am just trying to understand what the readings mean. For example, when set at 200, is that the max or a factor or a bit of both? Do I take the value and multiply it by 200? It's interesting to me that 200 and 20K are...

Testing plug wire with OHM meter. I don't understand the readings

I used two different meters on the same coil wire. It's about a 18" long. One meter I tried at settings that read 200, 2000 and 20K. The digital meter read as follows: 200 = 1.9 2000 = 63 20K = .17 I also tried it with a radioshack 'pocket meter'. There is only one setting which reads K...

390 tube headers on a 351C? Maximum confusion

If you go with headers get some stage 8 locking bolts. https://www.stage8.com/ They keep the header (or other) bolts from loosening. Worth every penny of cost and time to install.

Shout out to our 'international' friends

You international folks are amazing. I responded to a guy in Germany today who is fighting an exhaust problem. And yesterday I was at my second car show here in Arizona in a week that dozens upon dozens of old American cars. It's a big contrast. It takes a special person to own a 50...

390 tube headers on a 351C? Maximum confusion

That's the problem. You're measuring in inches but Germany is on the metric system. But on a serious side. Yeah, with those headers you will need to get some custom work done to match up to your exhaust. IF exhaust work is expensive in Germany then you need to ask yourself "Are long tube...

‘73 convertible “Q” lost in Florida flood

Oh that sucks. I am sorry for the ignorant question but how did that total it? Obviously it would need a lot of work but is it 'unsalvageable'?

Question about engine bay oil pressure gauge

    1973 Grande' will not start

What Steve said. If no one is around take a wire from the positive of the battery to the small terminal on the starter solenoid (you can do this with the ignition off, no key in the ignition). As soon as you complete the connection the engine should start to turn over. If it doesn't you have...

Replacing Motor Mounts - A short write up

I finally took the dive and replaced my broken and incorrect motor mounts with original (used) 73 Mustang Convertible mounts. I've avoided this because I am old and last time I swapped motor mounts was on my 83 Jeep Cherokee and THAT was a major pain. So if this is a job you've been putting...

Hi There! New to the group with my 1973 Mach 1

I have zero experience with the CJ fender, I didn't even know they existed! My gut reaction is 'no' because some aftermarket stuff is sketchy. Post up a separate thread and see if anyone has actual experience with those.

Hi There! New to the group with my 1973 Mach 1

Howdy from Phoenix! How awesome you have your grandpa's car and that he was the original owner! It looks solid. Looking at the door panels I would guess more miles than less miles. I apologize if you already know this but the fenders are unique to 1973. It looks like you might need a...

    Radio mounting

Yes, that's how it works. Way deep in the dash that clip slides in. It's actually a rather effective mounting system once the front bezel is attached.
