    Radio mounting

Here is a picture of one in an ebay ad. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166201606492 The 'hole' goes to the back of the radio and a screw bolts it to the back with the resto of the mount below and under the radio. Then the unit is 'slid' into place with the clip sliding into a a raised slot. It's...

    Just a PSA

I am too often disappointed in after market reproductions. How hard to make a bumper that matches? Or door panels that fit. Or qtr panels that are not junk? Some of it is pretty good. I bought a boot that is pretty good, carpet that mostly fit, etc. It's not like people won't pay for...

1973 Convertible Project: Continue Rust Treatment

So you'd sell the Coupe with no drive train? The answer is 'yes, someone will buy it' if you price it right!

    Time to Hibernate

Beautiful car! Yeah, here in Arizona I am working to get mine back on the road. Should be nice 'top down' weather for 6 months. At least I don't have to worry about snow/salt/etc.

    C6 knowledge requested

When I swapped a c6 into mine (was an FMX) I had to modify the linkage for the gear selector. I don't know how 'unique' each of these are but don't throw it away!

    Cloth or vinyl Convertible Top?

That's a good question. Can we assume you are going with black? Is cloth available? I think cloth would be a bit less shiny but harder to clean? How often will you be putting the top down? It's the wear points that would concern me with cloth.

    Brake pad pins

They can be a pain in the butt. Do you have the old pins to compare?

What did you do to your car today?

Drove it! Ran fine. Actually, best it has for a long time. Just puttered around the neighbor hood and local streets. Kept it to 45 and below. But I think I can now take it to the tire shop without fear of it dying in their bay. (Been there, done that!). Then it's onto the Motor mounts...

Swapping motor mounts on 351C with hooker headers. Will I need to pull the headers?

Motor Mounts, what a pain. Mine are bad (and the wrong ones to boot). So it's time for the swap. The plan is use a hoist to lift the motor up but I can't recall if I need to pull the headers or not and haven't crawled under it to check. I figure I might have to disconnect the exhaust, no...

What did you do to your car today?

Drained the old gas and put new gas in it. Replaced the rubber fuel lines, a new fuel filter, added a fuel cutoff switch (under the hood) and added air to the tires. Although I have moved it around a little and started it pretty regularly the Mustang wasn't getting much love until a couple of...

    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

If you don't want to swap out the factory gauge you can add one 'under the hood'. I have a mechanical gauge. They are great. Instant readings.

What do you say when asked if it's a Mach 1, but it's not?

I believe, and I could be wrong on this, that one of the trim levels named 'decor group' included the 'Mach 1' style grill.

What do you say when asked if it's a Mach 1, but it's not?

My go to is 'no, it's a convertible'. Like Lazarus mentioned, even us convertible guys get some Mach 1 love. But seriously, if I owned a fastback body code my desire to correct someone would depend greatly on the situation. At friendly 'Nice Mach 1' at the gas station would get a...

has anyone used a torque strap?

Edit after posting this: I was thinking it would help keep them from breaking. Or is that not an issue with the captured style? I went and grabbed my replacement used convertible 73 mustang mounts out of storage (I needed them anyways) and now see what 'captured style' really means and why...

has anyone used a torque strap?

Thanks for the details. So what do you all think? My motor mounts are broken. Probably the tranny mount too. They are not the right mounts because I have a 1973 Convertible 351C and they are not available after market. I picked up a pair of used ones for the 1973 Convertible. They seem...
