    Questions?

I would be surprised if it had a power glide. It would require an adapter plate and such. And I don't 'think' a 'serious' racer would have used a Summit carb. How about a few pics of the engine and, if you can get under it, a shot or two of the tranny.

Solenoid / Ultra Tork Starter Solenoids 40200

Thanks for clarifying. Here's what I would try next. Start the car and if it still will not stop running when you turn the key to 'off' try removing both of the small wires from the solenoid. If the engine stops running leave the wires disconnected and test the two small...

Solenoid / Ultra Tork Starter Solenoids 40200

I am confused. Your original post indicates that the starter won't shut off but your latest post indicates the car keeps running. Do you have a multimeter available?

Solenoid / Ultra Tork Starter Solenoids 40200

Wiring is the first thing to check. Easy test is to remove the black wire and see if the engine cranks. If it doesn't then move the yellow capped wire to the black wire side and see if it cranks. A multimeter is helpful too. One wire will have power only when the key is turned to the...

My beautiful 72 convertible - Wrecked & Ruined

I am so sorry for you. I am glad you are okay. This is my concern every time I drive mine, that some ***** will take out my car. It's my second Mustang and the second car I ever owned. The first one, a 73 Mach1, was taken out by a drunk driver. I hope it turns out for you but that looks...

    Restore or buy

Welcome to the board! You have conflicting requirements. "I won't skimp when quality is involved" but you are considering purchasing someone else's restoration. Almost certainly someone else skimped at some point in their restoration, and if they truly feel they didn't, they will command a...

    Need some ideas

It sure sounds like vapor lock. How are you confirming fuel pressure? When the car won't start try putting a small amount of fuel down the carb and see if it runs for a second or two.

    HOLLEY Classic Carburetor Questions

I am not an expert on Holley carbs but I will offer some shade tree advice. Realize that Holley Carbs are very tunable and adjustable. This is both their benefit (to racers) and folly (to most of us). Most of the 'tunability' can be found with proper float adjustment, proper accelerator...
