    73 CONVERTIBLE BOOT/TONNEAU COVER

When my car was only 8 or so years old, and I was a much younger man, my father got me a new boot as a birthday present. This is before they were available, at least easily, as a replacement. The upholstery shop drilled my trim and put in the snaps. It is MUCH easier to put on the cover...

    My first Mustang 73.

Time to get some 'standard' sockets and wrenches! That's a good looking ride and you have come to the right place to get some encouragement and help!

    Overheating issue

Start with the simple stuff. Does the top hose get hot and do you 'see' water flow with the radiator cap off? If not then possibly a stuck thermostat (or installed backwards.. yep, I've done that). Easy to pull and test. Put it in a pan of water on the stove and set to bail. You should see...

    Engine ran without coolant

No need to lose sleep. The oil provides a lot of cooling. And it was just idling.

    Water pump issue

Always swap the thermostat first. Test it if you can. Cheap and easy.

    Like a proud papa

beautify baby you've got there. And when you think about it, we do interact with the steering wheel more than anything else (except perhaps the pedals)

Another mismatched Motor Mounts on a 73. But I think they are the original frame stands

I just zoomed in on the hard top pictures and noticed the same hole elongation exercise seems to have been committed.

Another mismatched Motor Mounts on a 73. But I think they are the original frame stands

My 1973 convertible motor mounts do not look like the pictures of the ‘captive’ motor mounts I have reviewed on the site. Zooming into the one picture it is obvious that the mount was modified with a grinder by elongating the hole. I believe I was the culprit, I have owned this car for 40 years...

    351c motor frame mounts

Edit: Looking at pictures of Motor Mounts these do not have the 4 things that look like rivets. They look like 71/72 mounts but I have no idea why I would have them since I never owned a 71/72. While Cleaning out the attic I found what I believe is a set of used 73 convertible mounts...

    C4 with gear vendor

Glad to help, I meant to leave some comments on the pictures but they are pretty self explanatory. I had to reroute the exhaust. The convertible has a plate that crosses the tunnel under the car. My exhaust was running through it but with the GV it was too tight so now I run below it. So...

    C4 with gear vendor

I have a 351C with a c6 and gear vendor. It fits. It's tight but it fits without having to do any modifications to the floor. 73 Convertible. BTW, I love my GV.
