    If you decide to go either route you'll need to look at other changes to your engine. For example, you'll want a different cam. Also, you'll need to either add a vacuum pump for the power brakes or convert to hydroboost. Depending on the super charger you might be looking at hood clearance...

    I have a dial back timing light with a tachometer. Digital output. I like this setup because I can move the pickup to each spark plug wire and verify that the RPM range is consistent. It can help to troubleshoot bad wires, plugs, etc.

    Cranks over in the run position.

    Have you checked the solenoid wires with a voltmeter? Remove the small wire on the solenoid closest to the starter, this provides power to the coil while cranking. It won't hurt to leave it off while testing.

    On the starter Solenoid there are two small posts. The one closest to the battery gets power when you turn the key to the 'crank' or 'start' position. A simple test is to take a piece of wire and attach it to this post, touch the other end of the wire to the positive battery post. Do this...
