Like / dislike of 71-73 Mustangs

I definitely prefer the cars at least leveled, as opposed to 'dragging ***.' Never was a fan of that look, although I know it was a thing in the '50s thru the early '70s. A little bit of rear end rake is OK - as long as it's backed up with some big fat meats stuffed under there. Makes the...

Would you buy a 71-73 again?

I would not buy my car again... at least, not in the same manner I did when I first bought it. Sorry, but I think I'm only good for one "miracle resurrection from the dead," and that was it. Now, would I buy another '71-'73? Absolutely! I would just make sure to look for a [much] better car...

OMG! $88,000!!! I've sold 2 convertibles in this color 10 times nicer than this car for $25,000 and $35,000 in the past 8 years !!!

VERY Nice!!! I am totally non-denominational when it comes to cool cars, and those Tri-5s are gorgeous! I have an extensive list of cool cars I would love to have, and would need a Jay Leno-sized garage with a multi-million $$ budget to get complete relief for my itchiness. 1982 is about when...

Oh, I totally got the gist - I was just piling on. Sorry - I should've put a smiley on mine as well, but the network here at work has been flaky all day - I was lucky to actually get my reply posted. But now you need to share pics of the Nomad (VERY Cool, BTW) along with more pics of the...

Whatever, Dude. Ain't nothin' wrong with H-Codes. I know with all the go-fast goodies I threw at mine (while keeping the factory 2V heads), I'm pretty sure I could smoke just about any factory-spec engine code offered back in the day, based on output numbers. Whether or not that would be true...

I'm currently stuck in an '80s rut myself. I have 32GB thumb drives for all of my cars with [almost] all my favorite tunes on them. I broke out each decade and genre into their own folders, and I cracked open the '80s folder last week when the guys from work and I went to lunch - blew their...

Gotcha. I thought there were a little different. I admit to being slightly red/green color blind and figured it was camera lighting issues. There's a reason I decided to just stick with the factory Light Pewter on mine when I learned of the paint code and saw the color under the carpet. LOL...

    Fredensborg's 1973 Mach 1 improvement/build thread "Sleipnir"

Coming along nicely. The Leed's Brakes booster is awesome - mine was toast, so I went that direction as well. Works like a champ! Clarion was the shiz-nit back in the '80s. I had a set of Clarion 990 6x9s in my '82 Mustang with a JVC AM/FM/Cassette and 5 1/4" Jensens in the doors - best...

Aha! So there was some fudgery going on. I'll bet most of the cosmetic things that make that car's appearance were 'owner added' then - at least it didn't have side molding AND stripes (Man, that drives me nuts). I hate when that happens, not because it's changing the car, but because of the...

I was kind of wondering the same thing (if everything is legit - Marti Report and VIN being not available, of course) because it's an obvious repaint. The Tutone on the hood isn't 'factory correct,' the stripes are crooked, and I'd wager that it was not a Magnums, stripes & spoilers car... Ram...

    Lower Cowl Repair Question

It would also be a good idea to get a light source in there on the driver side and look up through the bottom, just to make sure there aren't any pin-holes you can't see otherwise. Hopefully, you can get away with just doing the passenger side, but I've not seen too many that if one side was...

    Lower Cowl Repair Question

Why would anybody do that when there's a '71-'73 replacement panel available? Even if you don't want to replace the entire panel, you can cut out and replace just the pieces you need. I would've killed for new panels, rather than having to do it the hard way. Here's what was left of mine...

Best daily driver tires/15" Magnum wheels/rainy FL

Unfortunately, the world has pretty much moved away from 15" wheels, which is why there are precious few selections to be had. Even then, they're geared more toward weekend hot-rodders who typically don't drive in the rain, and the last of the old fart generation who just won't let those old...

    Quarter Window Parts

Wow... I'm not entirely sure. If I do, they're in a box buried in the garage - I think I might remember which one, however. I need to do 'something' in the garage this weekend anyway, so I'll do a quick check.

    Trunk release latch???

Oh! Sorry... I completely glossed over the 'screen' you included. I have a Pyle Audio monitor that clips onto my rear view mirror, although I'll be replacing it with a newer mirror that has a full screen monitor built-in (the ones offered at the time only had 1"x2" squares embedded in the...

    Quarter Window Parts

That's a very good point, although the kit I have (SPAL and Autoloc universal power window kits combined) basically slips over the manual crank mechanism - in the event of a motor failure, they even provide a T-handle to engage the manual crank to raise/lower the window manually. So...

    Quarter Window Parts

I did the same for mine - snagged a quarter window conversion 'kit' from a '72 Coupe parts car, then just left the cranks off, used an aftermarket universal electric window kit, and didn't punch the holes through the quarter trim panels. I'd thought about making the manual cranks work with the...
