Color of front fender to bumper fillers from Daniel Carpenter… Grey not black?

They are softer than the originals, no markings. Smells kinda like urethane. I went to the thrift shop yesterday and picked up a cheap crock pot. Used synthetic fabric dye on them with good results. Had the dye around 180-190 degrees for a couple hours. Pulled them out and they were a bit...

    Knock/Detonation Sensor

I ordered up the standalone one from https://www.viatrack.ca/ With a new generic knock sensor and shipping to the US it was $103. Will report back in a month or two on it. Right now my car isn’t roadworthy.

    Knock/Detonation Sensor

That is pretty cool. Would make me feel better on a road trip where I am getting fuel from unknown sources.

What did you do to your car today?

Pulled it outside for it to bake in the sun. Took a pic before I pulled it back in. Paint cure is almost to the point where I will start putting it back together.

    Front bumper filler install

Copy- Thanks! I need to figure out a way to make mine darker. They contrast way too much with my brown painted car and bumpers.

    Front bumper filler install

What brand are those? They look darker than the Daniel Carpenter ones. I’ll look for a diagram.

Color of front fender to bumper fillers from Daniel Carpenter… Grey not black?

I know I want them darker, I wish I knew what material they are. Daniel carpenter vs ones off my car. Wonder if DC would do a run in black for those that want em.

NACA HOODS FOR '71 TO '73 MUSTANGS. CORRECT OR INCORRECT!

The article cleared up the NACA vs NASA name for me. Comment section was gold. Some commenters are absolutely adamant that 71-73s don’t count, but do count other NACA designs that break the plane of the shape they are installed in.

Assembly manual and order of operations.

Any resources for order of operations during reassembly of the car? Assembly manual seems to show what goes where, but not when to install. Mainly looking for resources on front of the car.

    early "71' only" dash pad

I really wish I still had the pre-disassembly pics of my 71. Curious if mine had one.

    Hole in rear end

That is a new one. Maybe they didn’t find the fill plug on the 3rd member?

Mach 1 hood edge trim/moulding , which is more like OEM?

Normally ACP makes decent stuff, but on all of the front trim pieces I have tried it seems like they are trimming casting flash off WAY too aggressively and rounding / under sizing finished parts. It is unfortunate because it looks like the quality would be fine if they took away the industrial...

    Frustration with Front end!

Opentracker racing sells boxed LCAs and kits to box your own. The OEM style lower control arms are stamped steel. Boxing them in by welding a shaped section of steel turns them into a box shape from a “U” shape and adds rigidity.

    Frustration with Front end!

Looking under the front valance do the strut rods have equal length threads visible (past the nut)? The strut rods are the 7/8” ish diameter rods that are bolted to your lower control arms that connect to the front crossmember with big rubber bushings. The position of the strut rods alters...

New boot way tight, does this look right?

Cool cars. I used to have quite the parts stash but liquidated it about 15 years ago. I wouldn’t mind owning one again.

Is that a 2002 next to the stang?
