AUSTIN VERT TALKS ABOUT COMPRESSED AIR BASICS

A really great write up Greg. I think as most people, I wasn't even aware of fad. I've always assumed that the listed cfm@psi was the number that I had to be concerned about when it came to my air tools. Although I haven't run into any problems with mine, I don't run any tools that need a...

So, do you STILL want an Electric car?

The roman candle of cars. :D

    My 71 Build thread

Looks really good. Need to give yourself a big pat on the back and take pride in the fine work you did. I think we all look back at our cars and wish we would have done a few things differently, it's just human nature of being indecisive.

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

I got the craven for some serious speed so my wife and I went to Kings Island yesterday. I road Orion, Banshee and Diamondback. I had a grin ear to ear and laughed like a kid. What a great day.

Random pics after 71 convertible completed..

Very nice looking. That will definitely turn heads when you drive down the street.

    upper back seat problem

First time for everything - that's how you learn. As Tony mentioned - leaving it out in the sun on a hot day does help a lot. I sat mine on top of the garbage cans and let them bake in the sun for a few hours. You be surprised just how hot that black vinyl can get. Glad to see you getting...

    upper back seat problem

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out. I know that it was a tight fit when I did mine. Once again, had to pull and work the material to get it to fit.

    Droopy Sun Visors

I've been down that road with them on my complete interior kit . The web site said the door panels were TMI but instead they shipped Dash Direct which fit like crap - had to make a lot of modifications to get them to work and look good. I didn't realize the swapped until I was ready to install...

    upper back seat problem

I re-upholstered mine and yes, they do seem short, but they will fit if you have the right ones. A couple of tips to help get them on - use some baby powder and sprinkle the inside of the upholstery and on the foam. This will help them go on easier. Make sure you pull hard as you are...

What did you do to your car today?

While i was working on my visors today I notice the passenger side sill plate was loose. I grabbed a Phillips and tightened them. While I was at it, I figure I check the driver side also. Those were loose. I then decided to start checking all the screws on the halo, the doors seals and...

    Droopy Sun Visors

Well, I got back around to my sun visors today. After a thorough exam of the rod pocket on the visor, I discover that the metal pocket only extends about 1.5 inches in from the end on each side of the visor. Beyond that is seems to be just cardboard tubing for the rod to slid in. This...

    71 Mach 1 - Novice Restoration

Good morning Zach and welcome from Ohio. As mentioned above, it's nice to see the younger generation get involved in these older cars. Starting from scratch gives you some advantages on your build as you mentioned, but also can be a hindrance due to the fact that the car is striped and now...

I think I have something going on with the differential

If you pull the drive shaft you will be able to check the u-joints, rear end and tranny and tail shaft independent of each other to track the problem down. You check to see if the u joints are moving freely and smooth. The rear end can be checked by using a variable speed electric drill to...

Be thankful it was "before" and not "after" the restro. Then I'd be sick with you.

    PoFoMoCo's 1971 Shelby Europa build October 2022

All the work you done to scrap up those parts and to pay attention to all the small details is what makes a difference between a nice car and a great car. Can't wait to see the finish car.

    Droopy Sun Visors

I have had the visors off the rods and I didn't see any screws anywhere when I did. These are from cj pony and I'm wondering if they are made different than the factory ones. These just hold in place by friction but regardless of how far or how much of the inner sleeve I compress down, once...

    Droopy Sun Visors

You are correct and that's what I have tried several times. Problem is it only works for a while and they become loose again. I'll probably try the bushing kit tpj posted above.

    Droopy Sun Visors

Thanks for the offer. These are just a few years old. Just need to figure out a way to keep them from dropping down.

    Droopy Sun Visors

Thanks for the info. I had looked previously for something similar on both npd and cjpony site. After I read your reply I went back and checked under Chevelle and all the other makes but nothing is listed. They evidently have done away with them.
