Discussion about car weight, weight distribution and turning

As far as front weight bias, you can replace the Mach 1 urethane bumper with a chrome, or even fiberglass, version and save at least 100 lbs. What worked for me way back when, was lowering the car 1" in front, 1/2" in back, using stiffer springs and shocks and larger sway bars front and rear...

Realistic price for a decent Boss?

My Boss crank and rods have part numbers but no date codes. At least I don't remember seeing any. Maybe some day I'll get really bored and check.

Realistic price for a decent Boss?

I would start by doing as much research as possible on what is correct and what isn't. The B1 has a lot of specific parts which can be spendy to source, if not already there. Read through the B1 section on this forum. There is a Facebook group ran by Rick Ybarra dedicated to the B1. If you're on...

    Brake Question

If you have the valve out when you replace everything, you can center the pin by hand. If everything is still connected, fill the front brakes reservoir and then open the line at one of the rear brakes. Apply pressure slowly until the pin centers and the light goes out. Bleed front and back...

    How rare ?

If it were me, I'd swap out the entire dash and wiring harness and keep all three options, but being in Tennessee, you probably don't really need the defroster.

    Boss 351 carb for sale

You're reading it correctly. It's a one year only, one car/application only carb that everyone tossed in the trash back in the day when they went with a Holley 750 double pumper that actually worked. If you're restoring a Boss, you probably need one. Supply and demand.

Nope, never saw it again.. He sold it to someone that lived about 200 miles away.

    Magnum 500 Stealth rims

I think those would look really good if they were black chrome. The flat finish doesn't do it for me.

    Dream Car

The one that got away. This should be a different thread, but a guy I met through my girlfriend at the time had a Grabber Blue '70 Boss 429. I told him if he ever sold it, I wanted a shot at it. I broke up with my girlfriend and 6 months later found out he had been trying to contact me but my...

    Dream Car

I also have too many to list, so I'll just go with what I wanted "pre-drivers license". 1966 GT40, Pantera, Sunbeam Tiger, Boss 351 Mustang. I have the Boss and Tiger, will never be able to own a GT40 and have almost bought a Pantera several times, but they don't fit me very well. I'm outside...

I sold my car several years ago, so can't take detailed photos for you, but can show a couple of the engine bay of a '73 Q code with auto and air. Steve

This sounds like out of hand if true. Australian rules.

If people knew how many items used to have asbestos in them that they are exposed to, they would curl up in a corner, hug their therapy puppy and sob uncontrollably. In your house you might have sheetrock, sheetrock joint compound, "popcorn" ceiling texture, floor tiles, wall and ceiling...

    Hello

If you contact Marti Auto Reports, https://www.martiauto.com/martireports.cfm, for 18.00 you'll get a report that gives the basic information on the car. You'll need the VIN from the door or dash. If we had a picture of the data plate on the door, we could maybe give you some information for...

    rear suspensions Mach 1 1973

It's to help prevent the rear springs from wrapping under hard acceleration off the line. Kind of a factory version of traction bars. Steve

Anyone autocross or race their 71-73 in SCCA type events?

In the '80's, sports car clubs where I lived would get permission to set up road courses in the back parking lots of malls. I had a TR-6 but one day brought my '72 Mach 1. It already had the front and rear sway bars, front disc brakes and 15" wheels with 60 series tires from the factory, and I...
