    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

Just closing the loop on this. I replaced the sending unit with a new motorcraft part, and the oil pressure gauge works great again. In case it helps anyone, I used a Motorcraft SW-1547-B. Comes with teflon tape attached and screws right into the block.

    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

OK, thank you. I ordered the new sender, should be here tomorrow. I'll remove the non-factory "Y" piece and screw the sender into the block where it belongs.

    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

Okay, so I hooked up an oil pressure gauge to the same port where the sending unit was. With the car idling (1,000 RPM, factory spec) for a half an hour I see 35 PSI. Revving it to 2000 RPMs gives 64 PSI. I feel like those numbers are probably acceptable. I will order a new sending unit and see...

    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

Is this factory? I'm guessing, one side of this went to my oil pressure gauge, and the other side to a buzzer or ***** light? The side that is capped was not connected to anything. The other side I unscrewed my pressure sensor from.

    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

Just realized that my cheap Harbor Freight compression tester also doubles as an oil pressure tester (I think). I'll test it out tomorrow and post results.

    Thoughts on Low Oil Pressure

73, 351 4V Q Code, 4 Speed, factory gauge cluster in center console (including oil pressure) My oil pressure today was really low at idle (near the "L" on the factory gauge). At 2,000 RPM it was in the lower 3rd of the safe range. Oil level is fine. I changed it in the Spring - and maybe put...

351C 4V Spreadbore intake vs Squarebore intake

Note: Edelbrock intakes show up on Craigslist every now and then. Keep your eyes peeled. I'm not sure how much better they are then the cast iron originals, but they sure are lighter!

    Upgrading to Edelbrock Heads/Cam Soon

73 Vert, 351C 4V, 4 Speed, FPA headers, 2.5" dual exhaust, 3.25 rear. So I finally bit the bullet and ordered Eddy heads (non-roller), cam and timing chain/gear set. I ordered an ARP bolt kit and heads, intake, headers gasket set. I also ordered a timing chain gasket and water pump gasket. The...

Good thinking! Adding the VIN in case anyone ever restores it to original and sells it, the new owner might enjoy it's past life! 1T05H679427

    F-ing HOA issue!

I'd love to see the HOA docs, too. But in the long run, you live in a neighborhood that has a "government." If it were me I'd: 1. Read the HOA docs to see if their claim is defensible. 2. Get a normal car cover. 3. Possibly paint the car (I understand their may be financial issues there...
