    Hunting a voltage leak

midlife, Where am I connecting the DVM? Between the positive battery post and the disconnected positive cable?

    Hunting a voltage leak

I'm trying to find a voltage leak that's killing my battery and could use some help. I have a test light that I connected between the battery negative post and the negative battery cable (while disconnected). In this configuration, with the key off, there is 12 volts running across the test...

    Edelbrock 1406 Nightmare

Got it. Try the carb with stock setting and the fattest squirter. Let us know. Don't get into the secondaries when testing. Just see if it runs well enough to drive at normal speeds. Good luck!

    Edelbrock 1406 Nightmare

Agreed. I installed a clamp-on O2 sensor in my exhaust and I can monitor AFR while tuning. When done I simply remove it. It makes tuning much easier. For what it's worth, I had to go up several squirter sizes on my Edelbrock. There was a kit with a couple of different sizes, I would reset the...

    Battery Hold Downs

I'm missing one. . . Anyone have a better source? Shipping costs more than the clamps. https://www.cjponyparts.com/battery-hold-down-j-bolt-pair-1967-1973/p/HW417/

    Dead Battery

Interesting. Is the battery still working?

    Dead Battery

I replaced the battery in my 73 with a Duragold 750cca from AutoZone last May. I went out to take a drive yesterday and it was dead (last started maybe 3 weeks ago). And I mean dead: no dim lights, nothing. I put my battery charger on the battery and it would not charge. It just gave me a...

I'm exchanging emails with the seller. I'll let you know how it goes. :) Seems like a stand up guy.

    Future Boss 351 Buyer?

Hey all - I would love to pick up a Boss 351 sometime in the future. And by the future, I mean anytime between tomorrow and the next 5 years. I'm a 73 Vert owner, but pretty green on the Boss 351. I thought maybe if people were up for it, you might take a look at this listing and pick it apart...

    Window Washing System

Just one guy's opinion . . . but most of us don't daily drive these cars. If you're going for originality, then by all means get it working. But aside from that, do you really need it in a car you don't drive most of the week? That being said, mine is installed and operational. The last time I...

Engine bogging / possible fuel boiling

Remember, too, you could have more than one issue. The stalling when hot might be a different issue than the stumbling when flooring it. :)

Engine bogging / possible fuel boiling

"just cruising any speed the engine runs perfectly, but if I decide to get in the pedal it at any speed it will stutter and bog down." I would think, if the fuel pump wasn't keeping up, then the carburetor would run out of gas at higher rpms. But if I read your post correctly I don't think...

Engine bogging / possible fuel boiling

Reads like a tuning issue to me. Like accelerator pump is clogged or too small.

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

Installed heated grips on my old Arctic Cat atv. Bring on the Winter!

    Rear View Mirror Disassembly

Based on this video I started peeling the rubber away from the glass. It felt like I was going to break the glass, so I stopped. I will live with the non dimmer function for now. Project for another time. :)
