    Rear View Mirror Disassembly

I haven't spent time with it yet, but my rear view mirror no longer dims with the switch. When you flip the switch, you can feel a little resistance, but the mirror never moves. This just happened. Can the mirror be disassembled to repair or am I without the dim function?

    HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THIS?!

Adding VIN from Mecum ad to document some feedback on the car: 1F05J141211.

    Lost on carb choices.

I've played a bunch, but I'll try a bit more. The carb works well except for a quick blip of hesitation when flooring it.

Installing Subframe Connectors with 2 Post Lift

73 Vert I bought the TinMan subframe connectors for installation on my convertible. I wouldn't call myself a welder, but I think I can do a good enough job to get these installed. I know I have to make some modifications to fit them in the convertible. There is a YouTube video on doing so. My...

    Lost on carb choices.

My Eddy has vacuum secondaries, and the secondaries hesitate a bit while fuel starts to pull. My understanding is that other carbs have a squirter in the secondaries (like the primaries) to fix this. Does the Summit carb have squirters in the secondaries?

    Hard time starting up.

Like Stanglover, I had a fuel evaporation issue. I mostly fixed it by adding a phenolic spacer under the carb. I've heard Air Gap manifolds help, but I haven't tried one.

Incredibly solid advice. Access to knowledge, jets and rods is huge.

    Lost on carb choices.

I made it . . . Meter: Auto Meter 4379 Ultra-Lite Wide Band Air Fuel Ratio Kit,2.3125 in. https://a.co/d/fomhXZX O2: I had an O2 sensor for some odd reason so I use that. O2 attachment: my son had one of these so I took off the whistle, attached the O2, and use that to clip to my tailpipe...

    Lost on carb choices.

I run an Eddy AVS2 650 cfm, but I pulled all of the choke "stuff" out of it so hopefully it's closer to 700 cfm now. :) I have no experience with Holley. The only reason I went with Edelbrock, is because I already know how to tune them. I have a portable O2 sensor setup which allows you to...

    Car cruise yesterday

Great pics. I go to a bunch of local shows around me (NH) - I've seen a grand total of one other 71-73 over the past few years. I'd love to see more!

    Stuck heater control valve?

In case it helps . . . my heater valve was stuck on cold. When I took it off it was gummed up with crud. Let it sit for a few hours in vinegar, flushed the cooling system and I had a working heater control valve.

I had intermittent dimming headlight issues that were solved with a new voltage regulator.

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

These cars have a vacuum actuated hot water valve on the heater hose. Sometimes vacuum is connected incorrectly or the valve gets gummed up and needs to be cleaned. This can prevent the heat from turning off, making the A/C warmer than it should be.

    71 or 72?

I was thinking the same thing. There might be more info that hasn't been shared yet, but there's a reason the OP is so skeptical. Just my advice . . . I would not buy from a dealer. They have no connection to the vehicle. If you're buying a Camry, that's ones thing. But there's no way I'm...

Engine Dies When Shifting to Drive

OP do you know how to increase the idle on the carb? If so increase it a bit (you'll hear the engine run faster) and see if it's any better. There still may be an underlying issue, but let's at least determine if raising the idle stop the engine from dying. If you don't know how to do so, let...
