Hard starting 1406 Carb new problem.

I have the same issue after it sits for a few days. Fuel evaporates from the bowls and needs to crank for a while to refill. At some point, I'll change my fuel pump to be sure it's not leaking back. But not yet.

Best bet for rear taillight sockets?

I have a flakey socket out back. I suspect I could rehab it, but I'm wondering if there are good options for rear taillight/ brake sockets that I can splice in?

    Dyno tune

My opinion . . . If you have an O2 sensor (avail on Amazon) to tune the carb and a timing light to time the engine, you can do most of what the dyno tune will do. Though knowing the exact HP/TQ is fun. :)

    Leaking power steering gear box

Another vote for redhead. And you can opt for the quicker ratio.

    Would you buy $9k convertable...

Unless it's rusty, that car is $9k without an engine in today's market.

    9 inch ratio - 3.25 or 3.55?

Wow! Must've been like adding two more high gears!

Thoughts on Angus 351C 3V Heads?

Good info thank you. I'll keep looking. I was thinking the 3V style would help a bit with low-end grunt.

Thoughts on Angus 351C 3V Heads?

Any thoughts on these 3V heads? https://angusracing.com/shop/ford-302-351c-235cc-68cc-cnc-complete-aluminum-cylinder-heads/ Comparison to Trick Flow or Edelbrock? These heads say "Complete" however I don't see rocker arms in the pics. Is that typical for a "complete" package? Never purchased...

Parts Wanted Beware. New Member as of today 4/5/23 bradonryan is a scammer

In the Cybersecurity world, we take all kinds of steps to prevent fraud. Literally, we turn huge amounts of knobs and levers. But ultimately, nothing is as effective as the human firewall. People MUST "raise an eyebrow" to everything. Everything. Even a txt or a call from a family member.

    Classic car selling companies

Because more than any industry I've had experience with, car dealers lie and cheat at-will. Low ethics, low morals do /say anything to make the sale. This exists in other industries, but not to this degree.

    Classic car selling companies

I will never buy a used car from a dealer. I always buy private party. No disrespect to the few good ones (and I mean few), but the faaar majority of dealers selling used cars are dirtbags. Name brand dealerships fare a bit better, but pretty much in the same boat.

    Carb Replacement

Just a note - the spread bore they reference is not the 73 spread bore on your 73 intake. Replace the intake and you can run a much wider array of carbs.

I like them, and my gauges could be brighter, but $75 is a lot for bulbs.

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Others much smarter than myself will chime in, and maybe correct me, but I don't think you need to stroke a 351c to make 400HP. I think headwork and cam will get you there. Again, I'll defer to the pros to chime in (for my benefit, too).
