What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

Cut concrete in my basement and dug out the 100+ year old dirt to add a bathroom in the basement. Having two daughters is driving this project. Next up will be tying into the 100+ year old cast iron. Going to be blast trying to get the old lead and oakum joint apart.

    Rust under Upper control arm

Also. That Idler Arm will not work correctly. The geometry is wrong. Rare Parts makes the correct one for our cars. I believe the part number is 20250. +1 CJ is not my first or even 10th choice.

    My dads first car

Welcome from Iowa. Make sure you are not running old gas through the carb etc. It turns to varnish and will cause a lot of problems. I would suggest a temp tank set up until the fuel tank and lines can be cleaned properly.

    Sturgis rally

I understand completely what everyone is saying. I am part of a club here "Iowa Mustangs Unstabled" we have a lot of great events and cruises, but at least 95% are newer (I refer to post Fox Body as newer). The few of us with classics still enjoy the events and actually draw the larger crowds at...

    2000 Mustang Front end

Sounds like a cool project. I will caution you on the 4.6 2V though. I had a 99 GT with the 4.6 2v, swapped PI heads and upgraded cams, throttle body etc. It was uninspiring to say the least.

    Coolant leak

Since the section of threads was magnetic I assume it was the block.

    Coolant leak

Thank you for all the suggestions. Here is what I ended up doing. My flowkooler pump will accept a 3/8 bolt in this position. Without drilling I threaded a 3/8 tap into the hole with bearing grease as suggested. Threads were cut nice. Pulled what I believed to be all shavings back. Still wanting...

    Coolant leak

Was losing coolant. Found it was leaking from one of the water pump bolts on the lower driver side. Thought maybe the thread sealant failed. Removed bolt to find a small portion of the threads still on the bolt. See pics below. What are my options.

    Seat Upgrade

I snagged a nice set from a fox body with the bolster etc for cheap. I'm in the process of cleaning them up before test fitting. I can update after this weekend for you but I have been told they work well.

    Restore or buy

I got lucky with my 73. It was a Cali car all its like until 2015. It was only in the Midwest for less than a year before I purchased it. If you see anything in the CR area I'd be happy to take a look at it for you before you make a trip.

    Restore or buy

Welcome from another Iowa member. As stated above a lot depends on what you perceive as "Restored". Where in Iowa are you located? I'm in Cedar Rapids.

    Recommendations to upgrade 72 vert

What do you want out of the car? A gear change in the rear would be the quickest way to get more seat of the pants feel. a 3.25 or 3.5 would be a huge difference. Other than that be careful of the rabbit hole. Ask me how I know. An aluminum 4bbl intake and carb along with headers, dual exhaust...

Sold 1 owner 1971 Mach 1 for sale in SW Ontario, Canada

Thats Crazy. I built a 40x40 shop with 14' sidewalls a few years back. I paid a contractor to do the site prep and concrete work. Then me and 4 of my friends built it. Started on a Thursday morning and were finished by noon on Sunday. I had about $18k in materials and $14k in the site prep and...
