Been waiting for 3 weeks for the front rims to come in, they were "lost" in transit. They showed up yesterday and I dropped them off for mounting and balancing. Just got the text they are finished, hopefully they are open when I drive by in the morning so I can pick them up and mount them.
When...
Thanks, I think those bolts would be better, I will take a look for them. I will look at the clamshell as well, thanks. The bolts in the picture are only finger tight, I wanted to see how it settled to see if their was any pressure on the rubber.
Here are the old mounts before I drilled the rivets out, wire-wheeled and painted them. The one on the left was marked as the right mount but these are universal. If you look closely on the other old mount, you will see a metal nub that has to be ground off in the middle of the underside of the...
Looks like the '73 Verts were definitely lowered while trying to eliminate a vibration issue. The pads for the non-convertibles are much taller, looks like at least 3/4". I followed your advice and picked up a set of Westar EM-2370's and drilled out the rivets on them as well as the rivets on my...
Just running a test fit on my headers after getting them back from the ceramic coating shop. Looks real tight on the drivers side going around the steering box. I am thinking when the motor moves around on the mounts that I will be scratching against the steering box. Just saw this link where a...
Just got these bad boys set up. 305/30ZR19’s on the back. When I measured it out before buying the tires and rims I couldn’t find rims that would fit the front so I made the choice to go with spacers. Picked up the Shelby CS5 staggered set. I picked up a 1-1/2” spacer for the rear wheels but...
Hey killer did you check out QSVT1's post about how to make a new '73 mount?
I wonder if anyone that has done this has tried to use a mounting pad from another year to raise up the engine a bit so that headers will fit around the steering box? I might try it out when my new motor mount tops get...
Buy 2 right hand mounts and follow Q1SVT's post above. He says take them apart (drill the rivets) and use the Top part from the new mount and the bottom part from your old mount and bolt them together, wallah... new motor mount rubber in your '73.
Sounds like your ignition switch is not releasing. It's on your steering column behind the column cover. You can clean it out with electrical connection cleaner. Does your key switch spring back when you let it go or is it sticky? You may need to clean your key switch too. You will see a small...
