Parts Wanted Retiring to make rare parts

How about ‘73 Convertible motor mounts for 351C. There have been a couple of urban legends that they can be re-vulcanized if in good shape but tracking these myths down has delivered bupkis.

My new wheel and tire combo

Yeah that was my issue too until I put the Global West UCA’s on.

My new wheel and tire combo

Yeah I agree with your concerns on the track for sure, my car is strictly street. It’s the Global West uppers that gave me all the space, I actually have enough room for 27.8” tall tires against the frame up front but I haven’t dialed in the alignment fully yet. Once I get the tires and rims on...

What did you do to your car today?

Working on the EFI system. Finally installed the crank shaft position sensor from Innovators West. Also polished up the 3 belt front pulley and gave it a coat of Por15 Clear. Damn trigger wheel is going to make me use spacers on the entire pulley system.

What did you do to your car today?

Well ordered new rims and tires, finally going to see how that Mustang Steve brake kit fits with wheels on it. Thinking of picking up the black brake cover. What do you guys think of putting covers over stock looking brakes?

My new wheel and tire combo

Thanks for creating this post Tony! It really helped me get motivated to finish off the wheels on my 73 Vert. I used a wheel spacing tool to measure out the max space I have available after installing the the Global West UCA's and LCA's. I also installed the performance springs for the lighter...

My new wheel and tire combo

Those look awesome buddy! Any chance you know how much internal space there is inside the front rims? I need 17" for the 2015 GT 14" brake package I have for the front, so I am a little concerned.

My new wheel and tire combo

What size are the tires Tony? And what is the backset on the rims? Any chance you have checked the internal spacing? I need 17" to clear 2015 GT 14" brakes.

What did you do to your car today?

Bolting it up is all I have done so far. I have to get new rims before I can put wheels on the car because original wheels won’t fit on a big brake. In order to get new rims I need to throw the engine back and get some weight on the new front suspension to see the wheel travel. The Global West...

What did you do to your car today?

Added the "Mustang Steve" brackets today. I was a little bummed out when I realized the '73 bearing races don't fit in the 64-69 hubs. I was looking all over for '73 hubs to go with my '73 spindles but couldn't find them. Then I noticed that 'Street or Track' had the '64-'69 listed as '64-'73...

AC this is a first for me. Not for the faint hearted!

Exact same thing happened to me. My car sat for about 15 years outside with a car cover on it. When I opened the box it was full of old mice ruin. There is no screen on the air inlet from the top of the firewall, something I shall remedy before I put it back together. You might want to reach...

What did you do to your car today?

What an exciting day! Finally got the old Drum style calipers in, they have been holding me up for a couple weeks. Finally able to tie in the Global West upper and lower control arms, old struts and the new 1-1/8" sway bar. Just waiting on the new drum rotors and I can install the Mustang Steve...

    3 Inch Exhaust

Velocity is what gets you power. No velocity = no lower end torque.

    3 Inch Exhaust

Are you planning on running over 500 hp? 2.5" dual exhaust is good to 500, so if you go with 3" and you are not in that range you may lose some power due to back pressure losses.

    351c 2v 4 bbl intake options

I am running a 2V Weiand X-cellerator intake with an Edelbrock 4150 throttle body and a 1" spacer between the throttle body and the air cleaner with aftermarket NACA air cleaner and active plenum and my seal is just right. I recall after ordering the intake that it was just a smidge higher than...

    351 2v to 4v conversation

I sure wish 'a guy' would walk into my shop with $200 Aussie 302 heads.

    351 2v to 4v conversation

Bench flow the intake manifold runners and compare that to the heads. Put port stuffers in the heads and get them port matched and get the intake manifold up to the same flow of the heads then get a cam to match your desired power range in rpm.

Ignition switch and Lock cylinder question

Pulled the column to repair a missing ignition cylinder assembly. Last time the car was started (20 years ago), it was with a screwdriver to turn the gear inside the column. It was so stiff it wouldn't move. I removed the retaining lock clip and washer to get the gear out and clean it up. I...

Is there difference for front drum spindles on V8 cars and 6 cylinder?

I have discs now but I am switching to drums so I can add a large brake package. Is it still the same bearings?
