Need to replace front and rear springs

Finally getting to that stage of the restoration where I can determine accurately the weight reductions I have achieved for picking out springs. At the start of my project I foolishly picked out springs that I thought would stiffen up the boat-like cruising just enough to enjoy the ride. I...

    71-72 bumpers on a 73

Thanks HK, I haven’t seen a 71/2 set up before. This helps. I can’t find a complete set up for under $650. I wish we had parts yards in Canada like you do in the US.

    71-72 bumpers on a 73

Is this reinforcement plate part of the original 73 Urethane bumper or does it need to be purchased separately?

What did you do to your car today?

Do you wrap your headers? I hear conflicting narratives on whether they should be wrapped or not. If they were wrapped I would expect a lot less heat radiating from the headers into the engine bay.

What did you do to your car today?

Got the wire wheel out on the grinder and went to town. Found some old rust spots when I was replacing the battery tray so welded in a new skirt panel and toasted the rest of the rust. Surprised how little rust there was for a 51 year old car. I got the full use out of the wire wheel, just some...

Interesting video about Cleveland heads oil drain back

Yeah, this video has me wondering if I should use old 4V heads at all and maybe just get some new heads. The 3V seem to be the best option for a rebuild if you're gonna start from scratch. I guess the only cure is a massive oil pan that will allow for an extra 3 litres of oil so you don't run...

Has anyone tried CHI 208 heads and intake for EFI?

I ended up going with Edelbrock heads and Weiand intake when they became available. At the time I was looking to start my rebuild the Chi 3V's were out of stock in North America and being made to order so shipping them was going to bring the tab to almost $8K with the intake, something I just...

    Fresh off the DYNO!

I agree. There are several advantages and the argument that you don't gain any horse power or torque is only proven if you Dyno before and after. For me the main reason I wanted to convert it was so that it was reliable and I could monitor any changes I made from inside the car. It is a major...

    Fresh off the DYNO!

This conversion allows for so much more tinkering than I was even looking for. Just like you, I hopped down this rabbit hole after reading some information online that grabbed my attention. One thing you should consider before making a decision on whether you will use an authentic Ford ECM or...

    Fresh off the DYNO!

Thanks Tony, yes steering box not pump. Thanks for the filter info, 3" should fit just right without cutting airflow around the rim.

    Fresh off the DYNO!

Finally got my motor mounts back from the mechanic and finished a test fit. Man am I a happy camper! NACA hood plenum and nostrils fit perfectly. I still have the MSD distributor mounted from the Dyno test but it will be coming off the the Camshaft Synchronizer will take its place. The Cam Sync...
