Installation of doors - better with hinges or without?

Thanks for your comment and opinion. I thought too that it is easier to mount the hinges to the doors first and then bolt them down with the door to the car. This way perhaps aligning the hinges with the doors is way easier than the other way round. I think the weight of the hinges add not that...

    Tim's 1973 Mach 1 rebuild thread - it's done in 2023 on it's 50th birthday!

Thank you very much for the suggestions, Rio. But unfortunately I have not that much scrap metal laying around anymore other than the Mustang... I will count on the wife, she has magic hands and will do the job hopefully well 😉 Thanks again for the tip though. It will be of worth for someone! I...

Installation of doors - better with hinges or without?

The fenders are removed, I have full access to the a pillar posts. The hinges are rebuilt, the doors restored and painted but empty, all is ready for reassembly. Would you better mount the hinges on the doors first and install them with the hinges on or is it better to install the hinges on...

Did the door hinges, went smooth. Now they have a lot less play in the pin area than before. Next will be mounting the doors with the wife 😉

1972 Mach 1 H code Prior owner restoration that need help.

Welcome from Germany! I would say... Go for it! It's your Mustang and you are free to do any work to it. As long as you don't put a lift kit on it and a 350 Chebby small block in *lol* I am more a OEM guy to the cars but anything period correct or better, what you could order from the...

Do your kids love to ride your Mustang?

They would love to drive the Mustang if it was just finished yet. But they can't wait and looking forward to get in for driving as I am too. The Mustang is in their minds for ever but hasn't driven yet since it ever was a restoration. They know it is something special. The only downside of a...

The rear was finished too with the brakes and now the Mach 1 sits back on his wheels the first time since almost two years. Next steps will be weatherstrip, restoring the door hinges and installing the doors. Before I installed the brake shoes and all the hardware I cleaned and grinded smooth...
